omg! yorkie owners really need to be aware of the danger. i had a close call with an owl. the owl came after my york and i got to him first. i picked up my york and ran back to the house. the owl continues to chase romeo in my arms. my heart was beating so fast i could hear it. one of the scariest moments of my life.

Default I kid you not

I recently moved into a new house and the previous owners had 2 fake owls and CD's hanging from a fish line across the pool and they said they had problems with "birds" and that this kept them away. Now I'm wondering what kind of "bird" it was. They had a dog too.

There are hawks and turkey vultures where I live. My yorkie Cozy goes outside either with humans or with my golden. My golden (120 pounds) is very protective of her and does not let her get more than 5 ft.-10ft. from him. If she goes any further he will either get up and follow her or bark for her to come back. He is 10 yrs. old and with some arthritis in his hips so some days he is has more spring than others. I really don't worry out her being outside. Plus I live in a high deer are where deer get hit and killed frequently so the vultures have plenty of food and I live by lots of farm land with lots of mice hence why I have 2 cats.

My friend's Yorkie was attacked and killed by a coyote Oct. 19th.

It is not worth it, do not leave them out alone ...

and make sure your fence is unable to be penetrated ..

or have a screened in area that the doggie door leads out to .....

always better to be safe than sorry ...

she is going through so much pain now ...

Our two are never left out alone. We live on a mountain and have owls, hawks, eagles, coyotes and even a mountain lion. The mountain lion has been known to take big dogs, ours wouldn't even be an appetizer. We are always on the deck when they are out, and walk them on leashes.
The coyotes in the area have eaten several cats that were allowed outside.
