| Micro Chip I just got my Yorkie Microchipped. Is this a good thing? I felt bad for doing it, but I know in the long run its a good idea. Has anyone else done this?

| microchip Since yorkies are so small, is there any chance the chip could harm the dog? |

| no it doesn't harm them. I work in a vet's office and i've done a few. some cry and some don't My lil chihuahua is 4 pounds and i chipped him my self and he didn't cry. i think it's good because so many dogs are saved because of them but you need to keep your information updated!! very important! |

| do the microchips get put in by the vet? or by the breeder? I hope I do not have to do it myself. I want my pup to be able to be identified o natter what. How much do the chips cost? The last time I had a dog was when I was a kid and microchips were not an issue. |

| Elphaba isn't chipped yet because the vet wants to wait until we have her under when she gets spayed...that way she doesn't feel it. My cat's were chipped right after I rescued the...don't rememberthe cost....less than $50. They didn't even notice it. |

| Bella was chipped by the breeder! The vet scanned her on the first visit for our records. |

| The needle used for the chip is rather large. We include the chip with our puppies and recommend that it is inserted during their spay/neuter at 6 months of age. The advantage is that it can be inserted under in the muscle since they are under for their spay. There is almost no chance the chip will move in this case. If you do it while they are away, its usually inserted under the skin only. Chips can and do move sometimes in this case. Terry & Eileen Ferragame

| Good Idea My baby was going to have it done at 6 months when he got nuetered but he was stolen from my apartment on Tuesday November 27th. He just made 16 weeks on Monday but I wish I was able to get it done before now.

| I haven't done it, but my Biewer is tatooed. If it makes you feel better then it was worth the effort.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | So sorry Atoyala about your baby. None of my puppies leave without being micro-chipped. I hope you will be able to replace your puppy. |
