| First time puppy owner On Friday I will pick up my new yorkie . I don't have a clue about dogs. I have done some reading on the breed. The breeder says the dog is registered with ARPI not AKC, has anyone heard of that registry? Most people register with AKC, right? Any tips? Thanx |

| Apri Garry Garner <gg@aprpets.org> apr@apetrecords.com fax # (479-299-4417) APRI can register your CKC Yorkie if a minimum of a three-generation pedigree is available on the dog. If you don't have a pedigree, we can usually find it through our connections with several pedigree services if available the website http://www.aprpets.org/main/index.php that's all i know but i thought they had to already be reg. and have a 3 gen pedigree to reg them apri i'm reg mine apri but they are already reg akc/ckc also |

| If you're just looking for a pet - and don't plan on showing or breeding, then how the dog is registered really means nothing. Some people just like to be able to say that their dogs are AKC or CKC, but it's just a piece of paper really.

| Welcome to YT and congratulations on your new baby. Please read up on how to care for your Yorkie as they have very sensitive stomachs. No table scraps or human food for the most part. You will find all the infor you need right here on YT. Please post pictures when you can. Good luck. There is always someone here to help if you need it. |

| Hi Welcome to YT! This is a great site, there is so much information here and the people here are great they are always willing to lend and ear or paw! All you have to do is ask. The one thing I would tell you to do before you get your puppy is please research hypoglyocemia, understanding that is extremely important with a yorkie. You can do a search right here on the site and alot of info will come up. Good luck and can't wait to see pics

| Hi and welcome! I too am a first time puppy mom. I am pleasantly surprised at how much instinct I have for caring for Gracie. It did not take long at all to be able to know what she wants. Most of the time it is just attention from me! Read the list of safe people foods and avoid giving your little one anything else. Lots of play, lots of praise and you will do just fine. IM me if you want to!

| Welcome Welcome to YT! You re going to love everyone you meet here. We are all more concerned about our Yorkies than ourselves - other than being a properly trained Yorkie parent, that is. Fire away with questions. You will get different opinions but the experience of the folks you meet here is worth millions! Remember that these are very social little kids and love attention from their people. Getting too spoiled is not good for your Yorkie baby, no only eats out of my hand, etc. Talk to your baby a lot, always be ready to reassure if something is frightening and Love me, LOVE ME!
