Anyone going to PuppyMill Awareness Day???

PuppyMill Awareness Day is September 19th at the Intercourse Park in Intercourse, PA. I went last year and am going again this year. This is a big event for a really, really good cause. Last year they had Ann Marie Lucas from Animal Cops, NYC there as a speaker. This year Victoria Stilwell from Animal Planet's show It's Me or the Dog will be there as a speaker.

I know what you mean about the weather. It's been so rainy here in Lancaster County lately. Even today were getting lots....of rain.

Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather on that day.

I'm not sure either. But I think it's probably at least 2 hours away from Baltimore. Let me know if you decide to go, I would love to meet a fellow YT'er.

That's actually a good thing there aren't puppy mill events there.

Awe...that's nice you remember me. Your right, I did have my one Shih Tzu, Lucky there with me too along with Rudy. I adopted another Shih Tzu almost a year ago. She was 10 years old at the time now she's 11. She was a PuppyMill dog that the Rescue got from the PuppyMill breeder.

I don't think I'm going to bring her along that day only because she gets herself all upset when we put her in a crate just to take her to the groomers and I'd have to do that to take her along with me down to the event. She is the sweetest dog. Loves to be petted but still is very wiggley when we pick her up. I'm sure the crate thing & the holding her too is because for all those years before we adopted her, she was never out of a crate & non-one ever held her before.

Dawn - is there a mobile groomer in your area? That may be easier for her to handle since they come right to your home.

I live in Harford county and am about 55 minutes away so probably an hour and a half from Baltimore. I will check the weather too.

It's suppose to be nice on Saturday. My friend Jodi who is also a member here on YT (msjagg) is going with me too.
