| Philadelphia Meetup.com group needs a new organizer I just got an email from Meetup.com that both organizers from the Yorkie meetup groups are stepping down. Unless someone assumes the role in 15 days the group will be closed. If anyone is interested here is the link for the more "active" group http://yorkie.meetup.com/293/?gj=sj8 This is the chance for the Philly folks to plan meetups actually IN Philly!

| I received the e-mail, too. I hope someone is willing to be the organizer. I did check out the doggie daycare that is near me. They said we could meet at their place for 2 hours on a Sunday and use their whole facility for $10.00 a dog. I don't know how many people would be interested since it is not near Philadelphia. I do not want to be the organizer because the organizer has to pay a monthly fee to use the meet-up site. Maybe we can get together a group from Yorkie Talk?

| Only way to offset the meetup.com fee is to collect membership fees. It's hard to find locations in Philly to accomodate a group of dogs and for it to be safe especially for the little ones. Unless members in Philly are willing to volunteer their homes for a few hours. In the warmer months there are lots of pet events that could be possible meetups. It may be possible to start a blog type meetup group.

| I started a Blog http://philadelphiayorkiemeetup.blogspot.com/ Unfortunately I am not able to send out a group email to the meetup.com members, so it will probably have to be done individually.

| It is located in Colmar which is a small town about 20 miles north of Philadelphia. I do have a sister that lives outside of Harrisburg. The next time I visit maybe we can arrange a playdate.

Thanks Amy for starting the blog. Check out the website of the place that has an indoor dog park. www.dogtown309.com On Saturdays from 1-3 they have a small dog playtime. I took Murphy yesterday. The two times that I took Murphy, they did have some big dogs in the play area (the dogs that are being boarded for the weekend.) But, there is also another room where the dogs can play. Murphy did have fun playing with a Puggle. He was still the smallest dog there, but he was able to hold his own. If anyone is interested maybe we can meet on a Sat. during the small dog playtime and see how many yorkies and their owners show-up. I'll help in any way I can. Diane

| Diane - How much is it just for the 1-3 playtime? Best Friends in Willow Grove also has a weekend indoor dog park. It's on Saturdays from 10-12 for small dogs. $10 for the first visit, and you bring your vet papers so they can check current vaccinations. Each visit after that is only $5. For now we are still at our regular outdoor park, until the weather gets REALLY bad.

| Pet expo I just checked out the Pet Expo site. I attended this 2 years ago when it was at the Fort Washington site. You were not allowed to bring your pets. That's great that pets are welcomed at the Valley Forge site. I'm interested in attending either on the Sat. or Sun. Let me know if anyone else is interested.

| Ok, so I just posted shouts for all the members on the meetup.com site about the blog. With the exception of you since you know all ready. Hopefully they were all recieved since sending a group mail didn't work.

| I guess it is a lot when you have more than one dog. I can't trust Murphy off leash at a dog park yet. We are still working on come . Hopefully more people will come on board with other suggestions. I don't know any places in Philadelphia. Thanks again for starting the blog.
