| I Got Tinkerbell's Ashes Hi Friends, Just wanted to let you guys know I got Tinkerbells ashes yesterday. The box was beautiful and had her name engraved on it - it was so tiny, looked just like a small jewelry box. My hands trembled as I opened the box and looked inside - there was a white handkerchief which was folded a million times and took forever to unwrap (at least so it seemed!!). Inside the handkerchief was a small plastic zip-lock-type bag with her ashes. Wow - it was amazing to actually "see" her. I cried a river to see those few gray ashes in that bag. But in a strange way, I felt as if she was still here. I am so glad I decided to keep her ashes. Initially I was opposed to the idea, but then had a change of heart. Glad I did. I put the box in our family room so I can have her close to me all the time. I never imagined this ordeal would be so difficult for my family and I. Well, I guess this is the last stage in the "process." I suppose this is now the beginning of what some would call "closure." Thanks to each and every one of you for your warm thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement - I truly would not have made it this far without you. Mia

| Ah, I'm glad she is home with you now, forever. I think its a good idea to keep the ashes, so you always have them with you, even if you decide to move, I think of that, I buried my 16 year old cat outside, with a headstone I had made, and I always think.. what if I move.

| Mia, My thoughts are with you. When Bandit died we got his ashes too. I didn't want to open the box but my kids asked to. I was glad I did, you are right, we did find it comforting (although very sad) to actually see those ashes. We put them on a shelf with his picture, and we talk to him all of the time. It does get better, honestly it does. Bandit has been gone for almost 9 months, his first birthday just passed. I can think of him now and smile. I remember the funny stuff! Hopefully you will be there soon.

| Awwww, sweetie. I felt the same when we got Kel's ashes. Her box is in our family room, too, surrounded by a praying bunny and her picture. I feel like she's "home" with us too. It will get easier, I promise you. You won't cry every time you think of her, you'll have more happy memories than anything, even for the short amount of time she was in your life. You gave her a loving home and that's all that matters, she was blessed to have you. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

| I am so sorry for your loss and yes this is closure. When I have lost one I put them in my flower bed so that when my flowers start blooming it reminds me more so of the beauty of them and that all things are a new now. |

| Thank you guys, sorry I haven't been here in a while...busy with work. I am feeling better, now just dwelling on the happy memories Tinkerbell left behind. The breeder recently sent me pics of the new baby she is saving for me and the baby is precious. She looks so much like Tinkerbell! Just a precious furball! Won't be ready til April, though, but the updated pics I get every few weeks are worth the wait. Will keep you guys posted. Again, thanks for the hugs and wonderful, warm thoughts. Mia

| Mia, I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better....Acceptance is such an important part of the grieving process. I have learned this through experience. Congrats on your decision to get another baby...Although she will never take the place of Tinkerbell she can take the place beside her.
