| In memory of my little Abby My heart is aching so much.... Yesterday I took my 2lb yorkie Abby in for a routine spay, her sister who is also around 2lbs was spayed two weeks ago and came through just fine. Unfortunately my baby Abby did not. My vet who has several of his own yorkies called and said Abby's heart rate dropped when he gave her a sedative prior to the anesthesia, he was unable to stabilize her. I am so heartbroken. I truly regret now having made the decision to spay her.... I read the pros and cons on spaying and felt that if I didn't I was not being a responsible pet owner. My hubby and I picked her up along with her brother Stitch and Eddy. I will truly miss my little shadow Abby. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I am soooo sorry to hear about your loss. Did the vet say why her heart rate dropped? Is there a chance they gave her too much sedative? I have heard of tiny pups dying because they were given too much sedatives or anesthesia. I know it's a terrible loss but I would ask questions so that this might be avoided in the future for other pet owners. Also, did they do her blood work prior to her spay to make sure that her liver was functioning well? Some vets do not do this and it seriously puts a pup at risk. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you since I know how it feels to lose a beloved pet. |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I am so sad reading about angel dog abby. Do not let this take you down. You did everything you believed was best for your little dog. It was not your fault. There are times when things happen to us we just cannot understand why. I do believe in my heart that there is a time for each of us to be called back to our Creator Lord God. When that time comes no matter what happened it was time. My teddy peanut left us and I took such good care of him. I take comfort in knowing it was time for him to go home. I have been 15 years survived breast cancer. 4 young friends have gone home. Why me? Not my time. Abby is surrounded by love so awesome and one day we will understand it all. |

| My Ziggy-Boo is gone :( Hello everyone, I have never posted anything on this site before but everyone seems so great and helpful.. We just lost our beloved yorkie Ziggy.. he was 9 years old and a 2lb beautiful little guy. We came in from a walk and I put him on the couch to take off his harness leash.. he is always so squirmy and got out of the leash and fell off the couch and landed badly.. he was gone instantly we got him to the vet within about 10 minutes lifeless and the vet said he likely broke his neck as he fell.. we are devastated.. he was our everything . We purchased him from Irene Gilroy in Mississauga, Canada and I saw someone recommending her on an earlier post.. just wondering if anyone has her contact information as I am not able to find it thank you in advance for any help. |
