| RIP Mickey This is not my dog, nor is it a Yorkie... but I found out by accident that my parent in laws had to put their 14 yo Huskie down either earlier this week or late last week. They have not told us at this point, but we got a card in the mail from the vet and I thought it was for me, so I opened it and when I read it, it was a sympathy card from the vet to them. (they have the same name as we do and used to live in the house we own now) so it was legit for me to think the mail was for us since I've used that vet in the past also. Mickey was 14 yo and was getting to the point where she was barely able to walk anymore. They gave her a good long life of love! She was a great dog and a main character in a lot of my MIL's books (she's an author). RIP sweet Mickey.

| I understand your in-laws must be hurting right now so I will say a prayer for them. You are so kind to bring this to our attention. R.I.P. Mickey!

| We saw my in laws yesterday, we were going to go to their house, but they stopped at our house instead and we gave them the card and apologized for opening it. They told us they have not told anyone yet because their granddaughter, our niece is in finals at vet school and she's struggling a bit so they didn't want her to find out until after finals were over because she'll have it on her mind and be really sad. They were very sad, heartbroken, but knew it was for the best. Mickey was 14 years old, had arthritis really bad. They had her on meds for a few years and took her off in the fall last year because of liver damage. They were trying to control it through diet and containing her to the bottom floor of the house, no more stairs. It was ok for about 6 months, but they knew it was time to make a decision at this point, she was incontinent now also. They did not want to talk much about it, but it seemed like they were relieved to have someone to talk to about it. We told them their secret is safe with us until they are ready to tell people. She was such a nice, beautiful dog. Again, RIP Mickey!
