| In memory of Tate Hello all. I'm new to YT and relatively new to the breed. My husband and I were given the wonderful gift of a yorkie puppy while I was recovering from cancer treatment and a bone marrow transplant last summer. I was given a very small yorkie male by a very generous oncology nurse who breeds yorkies and was looking for the right home for the little guy. He was the runt of the litter and weighed only 2.5 pounds by the time he turned 1. We had him from July to April when he died in an accident at our home. My husband and I are devastated by the loss. It was so unexpected. We have been through so much it just didn't seem fair. It's been over a month and we still miss him to pieces. We have a few mementos of him that we held on to, and I look at them and think about him often. We decided that we wanted to adopt a new puppy this summer, and I began researching breeders in our area. We went to visit a puppy a few weeks ago and ended up adopting him the next day. Hermes is very different from Tate. He's already bigger than Tate and he's only 17 weeks! He has the wonderful yorkie personality and brings us much joy. I still miss my Tate though and I know that he could never be replaced. He truly helped me get back my life after my transplant and gave me a reason to get out of the house last summer. I am very thankful for every minute that I got to spend with him. It feels good to express these feelings to an audience who understands! I was admonished for missing a day of work after the passing of Tate. I feel bad for those who haven't gotten to experience the joy of a loved pet. With love comes loss. Looking forward to becoming part of the YT community and sharing happy tales of my new Hermie. |

| I am so sorry for what you have already endured and the loss of your little boy. I hope you will always feel the love and courage that you felt because of having Tate in your life. You're right that Hermes won't replace Tate, but you and Hermes will create your own bond together. My little girls, each with their individual personalities, completely stole my heart, yet I've learned from their love that I will be able to once again give my heart to another little one. YT is a place with caring, compassionate individuals who understand your feelings of love and loss. I'm really glad that you are here.

| So sorry to hear about the passing of Tate and of your illness. I know what you mean, they are such a comfort when you are ill and especially when you are suffering from an illness that can lead to feelings of isolation. So glad to hear you found Hermes. We lost our little Cricket this past Nov, and then shortly after got our little Cricket. The house just seemed so empty without the little happy soul in it. I think Hermes is very lucky to be in a home where he will be loved so much! Congratulations on your new addition. Just a side note, don't let ppl make you feel bad for losing a day of work over a loss of your furry family member - my husband did also. |

| Welcome to yt! I am so sorry for the loss of your lil Tate. Glad to hear you have Hermes now. He will help with the sadness and bring you joy into your life. Getting Louie when my Brody passed sure helped us. He brought a lot of joy into our family... it doesn't replace them but it does help with the sadness. Wishing you good health and good times with Hermes!

| Welcome to Yt and my deepest condolences. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Tate. He sounds like he was the perfect medicine to help you with your recovery. Hermes is a lucky boy to be with such a loving family. It is sad some people will never know the love, joy, companionship that these little souls bring into our lives. Best wishes to you, your husband and Hermes.
