| Still so sad...RIP Zima I lost my little girl March 13, 2010. I can not get the memory of having her PTS out of my head. It was the worst day of my life. I still cry for her. The first few weeks the crying took my breath away. I'm a bit better than then but I am still so sad. She was 15 1/2 and basically healthy until a few days before Christmas she collapsed..I thought she passed away. I took her to ER and it was discovered she had CHF and kidney disease. It's so difficult to treat both diseases. We did our best and had her for 3 more months. I prayed she would go in her sleep but she was fighter as all yorkies are. That morning when she woke up she was having difficulty breathing and I knew it would be that day the decision would be made. We were syringe feeding her and gave her some water. I put her on her wee wee pad and picked her up...she vomited blood and we just scooped her up and brought her in. We held her and it was quick. I couldn't bear holding my dead dog so we immediately left after saying goodbye. It truly was the worst day of my life and I highly doubt I will be able to have another. The pain is so devastating. We have no children and she truly was our little girl and is deeply missed every single day. I realize now she gave me more than I could have ever given her. 15 years went by in a flash and I'd give anything just to hold her and kiss her one more time. |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet so quickly. I lost my best dog in the whole world named Goldie at 12 yrs to Kidney failure and it happend so quickly. I would give anything to have her back. This site helped me a lot Welcome to Rainbows Bridge I still am looking forward to the day when I can embrace her again. My heart goes out to you, it takes time to get through this. It does get easier, allow yourself that time. Big hugs~Joyce

| Oh honey....I am crying along with you. I have not yet had to experience this loss, but just imagining it is life crushing for me. Try and find comfort in that she is over the Rainbow Bridge and playing and running and feeling no pain or discomfort. And there she will wait until you join her. RIP Sweet little one.....

| So sorry for your loss. I understand as well. I had to make that horrible decision with my chihuahua. I had to do it for him because of the pain he was in. After a couple of months I just couldn't stand not having a dog, so I started researching different dogs and decided on a Yorkie. My Gunnar has made me so happy! I just love this little guy and it has helped me get through losing my chihuahua, Stimpy. Gunnar doesn't replace Stimpy, but does funny things like he did and brings back happy memories. Hope you can find some happiness soon.

| So sorry to hear this.... I had a very similar situation with my 16 yr. old poodle before getting Tatum. Syring feeding him the last couple days until finally we think he had a stroke and couldn't stand up and pottied all over himself. I knew that would be our last trip to the vet with him. It was heartwrenching and there wasn't a dry eye in that office. I did hold him all the way home looking into his face and had a hard time giving him to my husband for his burial. Brings tears to my eyes now even 6 years later. It will definitely take time for you to heal but you will never forget your baby. I know I haven't. Just be grateful for all those years you had together. I know it's hard to look at it that way when the pain is so fresh but it will get better.

| I know exactly how you feel. I had Muffin for 13 of the 15 years she was alive. The pain is so horrible. I will never have another dog as she was the one both my sons and myself could ever have hoped to have in our lives. She was everything. I cried so bad the day I had to make a decision that she cried too, which broke my heart more. But I knew she would not have liked living the way she was the last few days. I tried to make them extra special as I knew what the outcome was going to be. I hated the drive to the vet and just wished she would get better but I was wrong. The VET even cried when I said my final goodbye. I have so many wonderful memories of her and my boys growing up but at times they are hard to relive so I push them back and move on day after day always thinking about her and wishing her here with us just one more day. I pray that you find some peace in knowing that your dog loved you as much as you loved her. Ironically my girl passed on March 22, 2010. |
