| Tootsie is missed One week ago today I lost my precious 11-year-old girl Tootsie. From age 3, she dealt with many medical problems - hypothyroidism, seizures, and recurrent UTIs. Her health was well-managed, and up until 6 weeks ago she was still her happy and playful self. After several weeks of strange behavior, difficulty with standing, and sudden blindness, the vet said it was likely an aggressive brain tumor. DH (who only knew Toots for the past 3 years) and I are devastated by her loss - the house seems so empty without her! She was the sweetest and most loving dog I ever knew. I can't wait until I am ready to bring another Yorkie into my life - they truly are the greatest dogs. |

May you find comfort here at Yorkietalk, I know that many people have written to me to express their sorrow and it has been very comforting. |

| Thank you everyone! Buddysmom - I saw your post about the loss of Buddy and our situations sound very similar. I'm so sorry for your loss as well. I know how hard it must have been to see Buddy that way - I went through it too, and it broke my heart. (I also think that Tootsie came from a backyard breeder....) I hope you can find another sweet Yorkie to share your love with! |

| So sorry to hear of your loss of Tootsie. These little furbabies become such an important part of our lives, it is just devastating to see them go. I am happy to hear that you are looking forward to getting another, and wish you all the best with that. New puppies bring so much joy into your life, and you sure deserve that now.

| I am so sorry for your loss! Treasure all your good memories of Tootsie! I just lost Coco on Sept 7 and he was only 10 months old. Far too young and I know how I hurt! I cant imagine how you are dealing with it, having had Tootsie for 11 years! My prayers go out to you all. |

| Now just might be the time... How tragic...I'm so sorry to hear about your Tootsie. I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Please know that you might just be ready for that new pup now. Don't think for a minute you'd be doing Toosie injustice or even replacing her...because that just isn't possible. All I can say, is 2 weeks before we put our beloved Chewy down (9/10/09), we got Patch (5 mo pup) and he really brought alot of love, life, and light into our lives at a time when I honestly and truly didn't know how I could go on. My husband was afraid I might hurt myself as Chewy was my world for so many years before I met my husband. Chewy was my little soulmate and went everywhere and did everything with me. Anyway, I've done much better than expected as Patch let me see the positive side of life instead of only dwelling the extreme loss of my forever friend/dog...Chewy. I'd seriously consider getting another now, if I were you. Think about it and take care of yourself.

| My Sympathy and thoughts are sent your way I can really relate. I also lost my yorkie recently and I adopted a new puppy this week. I can only tell you that although I still miss Gertie very much, the pain is certainly less with a new "baby" to give me kisses and occupy my time at home. Take care of yourself and as I was advised so often on this sight, your heart will tell you when you are ready and just the right pet will be sent to help you heal.
