Hi. I'm a brand new member who just joined in search of other people who love Yorkies.

My 14 month old Yorkie Thirston Howl III (Thirston for short, we like Gilligan's Island at my house) just died yesterday. He, being a little Yorkie, managed to wiggle out of the fence. Before we could catch him he ran into the street and was hit by a car. The woman drove away.

It's rather upsetting because just a day or two before I had said 'If that dog ever goes, it'll be because he got hit by a car' because of his obsession with trying to jump at them when we would take him for walks.

It's funny how you miss the little things. Like when I would walk outside he would stand a the door and watch me until I came safely back or how he would chase me when I was swimming my daily laps in the pool.

He was no show dog, but he was a beautiful, wonderful puppy who always perked his ears and turned his head when you made a funny noise and so I wanted to put up a post in memory of him.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that you found YT, but very sorry that it was under these circumstances. How sad.

I am so sorry for your loss of Little Thirston. (what a clever name). Please know our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. Hopefully the day will come when the thoughts of him bring only happy memories.

Yeah, the hardest part is that he was just a puppy. He was so obviously still a puppy too. And the other two dogs (A german shorthair named Professor and a cockerpoo name Maryanne) have figured it out. Professor and Thirston were the best of friends and today he's managed little more than to lie down and just stare at nothing.

I'm soooo sorry for your loss!! It's so sad that they can be gone in an instant, we just have to love them the best we can while we have them. Thirston knew he was loved...I wish you nothing but the best. Hugs and strength...

Honey I am so sorry for your loss. My sincerest and most heart felt condolences to you and your family. I lost my Lulu the same way on New Years Eve so I truly know how you feel.
