Default First Christmas without Willy

My little Willy I miss you so very much! This will be my first Christmas in eleven years without you. You were the most wonderful friend and the dearest, sweetest soul. I miss you terribly still. Thank you for all the wonderful years we had!

Thank you so much! I know I was so blessed to have so many wonderful years wit him, but I can't believe how much it still hurts and how much I miss him. It is so much comfort having a place to share my grief and get support from so such a caring community :-) Thank you again!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. He is a beautiful boy, RIP Willy. Just think he will be sharing his Christmas with God this year.

Oh, Willy reminds me of my Lucky...I am so sorry you cannot be together this holidy. Remember that he is happy and a peace in a better place; though as the saying goes, "There's no place like home". This will be our first Christmas without our mixed breed Alfie; he went to rainbow bridge right after Thanksgiving; we loved him for 14 years.

So sorry you are hurting this Christmas. It will get better. Eventually you're left with all the happy memories. I hope your heart heals.

Default ViWill - Me Too :(

ViWill. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry and I know what you are going through. This is my first Christmas in 10 yrs. without my Newman. We lost him to cancer four months ago. It has been a terrible holiday season for me and so hard to talk about. As I write this I'm welling up with tears.

Thank you so much Elaine! That is exactly what I am feeling. I lost Willy in June. He had what amounts to a gall stone that caused his gall bladder to rupture. He survived emergency surgery and was doing really well. I was SO hopeful, but in the middle of the second night in ICU he went into cardiac arrest. They were able to revive him by the I raced up to the vet, but when I got there he arrested again and they were going to have to put him on a ventilator. I couldn't do that to him. I think he was just so stressed and scared. The ER doctor said he had been crying all night. He had never been away from home. I felt so guilty that I couldn't protect and comfort him. This holiday is just so hard. We had such fun with him at Christmas. He knew exactly which stocking was his and would park himself next to it to "guard" it. He was such a dear, funny little guy. I can't write about him without tears either! We have two other baby yorkies that I love more than anything, but there is a piece of my heart missing without Willy.

Thank you so much again for your thoughts!

Vwill, I am so sorry for your loss.
I can empathize with you, as I lost my dear dear friend ... Rebel the cat right after Christmas of last year and I just can't believe that she is not here with me this Christmas season. She was almost 18 years old and had been with me longer than ANY living breathing thing. She helped me through so many difficult times and was my very own little angel. I am so sorry that you are hurting and I hope that everyone here on YT can be of some comfort to you during this time.
I pray for healing and peace for you ......

Thank you so much! YT most definitely has been a comfort -- more than I could've imagined. I am so sorry about you losing Rebel too. It really has meant so much to be in contact with people like yourself who completely understand how painful it is and what an incredible void is left by the loss.
