Default Yes!

Yes, I live in DePere (near GB). I love to see other yorkie talkers on this forum who are from the midwest, esp. WI.

Wow...cool. We know people that live up there and go up at least once a year for a Packer game. It is nice to see other people from this area. I don't think there are many Wisconsinites on here

Default yes, only a few...

I've come across maybe 4 other yorkie talkers from WI. That's why I get so excited when I see one! I have a 4 month old puppy named Lucy. I put my 14 y/o yorkie, Jake, to sleep last november...the hardest decision of my life. What about you? How old is yours?

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. My parents lost their Golden on Thanksgiving. It was very sudden. Its so hard when you lose one that you love. My heart goes out to you.
I have yet to see anyone from WI. That's really neat. My little guy is Alex. He will be 5 years this June. He is 4 pounds. I am not married and don't have kids, so he is my little boy. I got him from a breeder in Green Bay. I bought him with birthday money. Best gift ever! Where did you get Lucy from?

I got Lucy from a breeder who use to live in Bonduel but moved to the Crivitiz area.
I'm married and have 2 kids, a 5 y/o boy and a 3 y/o girl and we have a 9 y/o black lab. Lucy is going to the vet this friday for some shots and I'm very anxious to know how much she weighs. She was 3.2 pounds at 12 weeks so I'm guessing she will be at least 7 pounds full grown. At first I wanted a smaller 5 pounder but with an 80 pound lab and my young kids, the bigger she gets, the better. Jake, my last yorkie, was huge, I think he got up to 16 pounds at his heaviest.
Sorry to hear about your parents Golden, how sad and unexpected. With Jake I knew his time was coming b/c at 14 years of age and being on prednisone for over a year, his body just couldn't take much more. It still was a hard decision though. I really wish he would have gone on his own/naturally b/c I hated being the one to make the decision of when it was going to done.

Sounds like you have a buzy house hold. Alex grew up with two Goldens. He learned real quick not to get under foot. He is the perfect size. He goes just about everywhere with me. With Grant it was very sudden and he was the youngest Golden. It is so hard to lose a pet. Did you have a good experience with your breeder? It is so nice that there is someone from Wisconsin on this board.

My experience with the breeder was okay. There were some things that rubbed me the wrong way but overall it all turned out. I went with her b/c I worked with a lady who had gotten her yorkie from her and had no problems and plus her prices were the best (still expensive but the best I could find). She has been in the breeding business for 20+ years and she is in her early 60s. The major thing that bothered me was she did not let me see Lucy's parents or any of Lucy's litter mates. There were some other things also. However, she is really a nice lady. If I were to get another yorkie, I probably would go back to her even though she just raised her prices another $100.00.

Where do you all take Alex? So far the only places I've taken Lucy was to Petco and Petsmart and to a quick lube when I had my oil changed. Not many places in WI to take a dog. I'm not brave enough to chance going into stores with her and getting yelled at.

That is a little weird that she didn't let you see any litter mates or the parents. When I got Alex the prices of Yorkies weren't that out of control yet.
Alex goes just about every where. He loves going for rides, so I take him with me if I have errands to run. I don't let him in the car by himself for to long. He goes with me to friends houses, a couple of my college classes and parties. We live not far from Pewaukee Lake and there are all kinds of restaurants there. During the summer they have patios and chairs. We take him with when we got out to eat or go for drinks. He loves it because he is such a social butterfly.

Thanks for the welcomes. I am a new yorkie owner also. I am still learning about their personalities and everything. They are great. I have three other dogs as well. I love to see how much energy my yorkie has and how she can keep up with the big dogs.
