Default Nebraska

I grew up in the sandhills in western Nebraska (not far from Chadron if you've ever heard of it. I lost my little 8 1/2 year old yorkie Kramer a month ago today (See RIP - I can't believe Kramer is gone). He was attacked by another dog right in my own neighborhood while I was out walking him. He was on a leash of course but, the dog charged at us so fast I didn't have time to save him. I miss him so much and didn't think I would ever get another dog but my little chihuahua is so lost without him. She is so depressed that she won't even play with anyone. I feel guilty that she doesn't have anybody to play with while I'm at work. I have started to look for another yorkie (I live in Atlanta now) but they just don't seem as cute down here. I think I'll see if I can find that Sandhills yorkie site.

Rockton???? That's where I live. I have been looking for puppies in my area! Not sure which question to start with Where at? How do I get their number, are there ads in the Rockford Register Star?? I wanted to wait until the weather got a little bit warmer. My sister has a small dog (beagle puppy) and is being very stubborn with the potty training in the cold weather. Thank you!!

Don't feel bad, the same thing happened to me with Baby.

It is hard to find breeders in Colorado too. The ads in the paper are people from out of state that will bring their dog to Colorado. I know they are puppy mills.

Thumbs up Where we got Zeke

We got Zeke from Knapp Creek Acres is Amana, IA and we're from Cedar Rapids. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with this breeder and would recommend them to anyone looking for a Yorkie!

Hi, welcome to Yorkie talk. I adopted my 2 dogs from my daughter's dance teacher and she got them from out of state breeders - she shopped long and hard before buying. Good to know there are good breeders in Iowa, though. I certainly have the itch for more - but in DM they limit you to 4 animals. In addition to my 2 Yorkies, I have 2 Siamese cats I used to breed - but the male is now 17 1/2 and my female just turned 14.

I got Muffin from Amazing Yorkies in Fairfax, MO. Had a great experience with this breeder. I have a friend who got her pup from Knapp Creek in IA as a few on this regional forum did. She was also very happy with her experience.

My Maddie came from a breeder in Orange County, NY. We visited her from the time she was 2 weeks old until we brought her home....she passed away just three days after we got her from pnemonia ( apparently she was sick before we brought her home) she was at the breeders when she passed away so we never got to say goodbye....

Gracie came from unfortunelty a pet store ( Rufus & Co is paramus, nj) I was grieving and should not have gone in there...but i did. She was staring right at me and low and behold three hours later she was mine. In hindsight I think it was meant to be she has had many many health problems in her year with us and i think that all of the fear and anxiety from losing Maddie has made me strive to be the best mother I can be to her.

Just the other day she was at the vet and he looked at me and said you know some other people would have never had gone through all you have with her but you have stuck with it and have the best dog you could ask for. He is right she is sweet and well behaved and of course the queen of the vets office the girls call just to check on her and we stop by whenever we are in the neighborhood so she can run around and give all of her drs kisses......
