| Does anyone have a yorkie over 7 pounds? Hello all: I was just wondering how uncommon in really is to end up with a yorkie that is too large to meet the standard. My Tucker is not fat by any means, his vet always comments that he feels very muscular and athletic, but he weighs almost 10 lbs. His breeder seemed like a very nice lady, but Tucker being my first dog ever, I bought him from a "breeder" advertising in the newspaper. Does anyone else have a yorkster that doesn't meet the standard for weight, or are the larger ones really that uncommom? It always hurts my feelings when Tucker and I are at Petsmart or the park and someone says, "wow, he must be a mix or something to big so big." Tucker is AKC registered and I know that Yorkies were originally much bigger than they are today and were bred down in size. I know he is a full yorkie and I think it hurts Tuck's feelings too when others suggest he somehow has less value just because he is larger. He is still a cutie. I will post pics really soon, I promise!

| Belive me there are lot's of bigger Yorkies here on YT. Do a search under larger Yorkies and you should see most of them. Buddy is 15lbs and all muscle and all Yorkie. 10lbs is still small by doggie standards |

| I have two over 7 lbs. Cooper is 12 lbs of solid muscle and Carley is a more dainty 11 lbs. They are absolutely perfect!!!! And to anyone that would suggest that yours is any less that perfection itself...well, you know better, don't you??

| I have 2 over 7 lbs--Max is 11 lbs and Abbie is 14 lbs so I also hear from people that they must be mixes. I just ignore their rudeness and ignorance.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | honestly, I've heard of a lot more yorkies above 7 pounds than I have 7 lbs and under. My Tucker is 12 pounds of love.

| My daughter has a male 10.5 lbs which has the same father as my female which is about 5.5 lb (different mothers). Both are AKC and we saw all the parents before purchase, she appears smaller and him larger than the dogs on site. He is also very muscular and athletic. |
