Looking for Yorkie in IL (Chicago) or surrounding region Hi I'm very interested in getting a Yorkie, preferable a female on the smaller side. I'm looking for a high quality breeder with serious attention to health and temperament issues. I'm willing to travel a couple of hours in any direction. Any recommendations? Suggestions on how to go about this search? I see there is a another similar post with few responses...not sure why. I'm a newbie to the whole breeder issue, all my dogs have been rescues. I'm open to that and don't have to have a puppy, but haven't been able to find one that suits my needs (health, temperament, size, availability).

Hi I am Radars Mommy, and Radar is in need of a new home. I am in tears writing this so pleases think about this serieously before responding. Radar was rescued from a puppy mill about four years ago and when I got him he was about on his last leg. We have worked through his socializing issues, he loves kids and most people and he has learned to play finaly. Radar is a pure yorkie boy and is 7 years old, he is by my side 95% of everyday all day but he still has anxiety seperation issues so he has to stay in a dippar or puppy band. I am getting ready to have a babby and know he will be feeling left out and want him to continue to heal in a healthy enviroment with someone who has had experieance with rescues and yorkies. He can be kenneled fr short periods of time but I prefe he goes to a home where he's in an puppy pen instead when no ones around (this is because of his previeouse tramatic life. He is so sweet and needs someone who will be able to be devoted to him everyday all day. He is uptodate on shots, neutered and in Elgin IL with me I just want to find him the best home possible. Let me know if you woud be interestead in my sweet little man.

I just Love her to pieces, Stella also has a Brother that I call Stuey, he is a bit bigger than her and wants to sit by my side all day & stare up at me. Just waiting for me to do something that includes him. He is quite the Mamas Boy or in my case Grandmas Boy. Just Love both of them so much! Both of them are very healthy & are vet checked & just had their 1st Puppy vaccine yesterday. I live in the SW Suburbs of Chgo. in a town called Frankfort if you would like to come see them.

Our breeder is AMAZING...she is in Iowa--about 7 hours from you. But, worth the drive. Several of my friends and I all have puppies from her and they are great. Her website is yorkiesjs.com. I love her and we will always use her as our breeder.

I have a male yorkie. He is a great dog. He is great with children, and loves to cuddle. Unfortunatley my husband and I do not have the time that he needs. We have a two year old daughter, and are both going to school. I feel like he is being deprived of quality time, and there is someone out there who could be giving him much time he desires. He is the greatest dog I have ever had, and would like him to go to the best possible home. If you would like to discuss further, please reach us at 989-725-2925. He is what is considered to be the teacup bread, but I know this term has much controversy in the yorkie world. He is up to date on shots, and is still waiting for all baby hair to grow out to be groomed properly. He has had his face and belly trimmed, but the groomer told us to wait for puppy fur to grow out before cutting his baCFK.

thank you thank you all for your replies, I really appreciate it. I actually only got notification of the first couple, and feel badly I didn't get back to the rest of you in any way. I took a slight detour from my Yorkie search to look into grooming costs which I had learned would be about $50 per six weeks (Chicago rates), and I need to make sure I can do all this comfortably (would likely have to hire a dog walker/daycare too). I am also looking into grooming it myself and whether this would be do-able. When I do adopt, it will be for keeps, so just doing all the research.
