| Ugh.... I use the Revolution once a month on Delilah and have said before I don't think it last throughout the whole month. Well, tonight after her bath I saw a flea as I was combing her hair!!! She is not due a dose of the Revolution until the end of the month. Is there anything you can use in addition to the Revolution to help without causing problems? Makes me wonder if the other protection claims of the Revolution are actually protecting.

| Revolution will not prevent fleas from getting on Delilah but it WILL kill adult fleas and prevent eggs from hatching. I would be very cautious about mixing flea treatments. I believe CapStar tablets are safe to use with Revolution, but you might check with your vet first. |

| I quit using revolution for this reason, I don't think it works. We thought our older dog had allergies because "she just couldn't have fleas" because we were using revolution. I changed to frontline. They do not itch. |

| How often do you bathe her? While these flea preventatives are water-resistant, they will lose their effects with each bath. I know when I put Lacy's preventative on, at first it works great but it never lasts a whole month because I bathe her every week. i was reapplying every three weeks this summer and that seemed to help. Also, make sure you put the preventative on like the day after you bathe and wait as long as you can before bathing again (so I bath Lacy, put the preventative on the next day, and the 6 days later bathe her again since I bathe every week). You can use a capstar pill if you see fleas later on in the month. It kills fleas within 30 minutes and lasts for 24 hours.

| I like the sentinel better than the revolution..I use it on the outside dogs, and they haven't had a flea or tick on them all summer |

| Capstar is a pill. You can buy it at a vet's office. Let me tell you though, I have seen the price vary a lot for a capstar pill though! I found a vet here that sells them for $1.50 apiece (the one I normally go to sells them for $6.00 apiece!) and one place here sells them for $8.00! So call around...

| I honestly dont know a lot about how revolution works. My parents use it for their yorkie but I always use heartguard for a heartworm preventative and advantage for a flea preventative (although I have used frontline before too and a capstar occasionally). I've always felt a little unsure myself about a topical heart-worm preventative...I mean, they may work fine, but I just trust an ingested preventative better for heartworms, especially since I know that flea preventative wears off with frequent bathing. But like I said, I don't know a lot about revolution and how it works so you may get plenty of protection from heartworms with that application for the month. I'd ask your vet because if they sell it, they should be able to tell you how it works and how effective it is with frequent bathing
