Having a Second One - Potty Training Hi - I have a beautiful 1 year old Yorkie name Lillie that potty trained for us in three weeks. I could not beleive it. She is such a great dog and has not had an accident in the house for over 7 months. So then I was so spoiled with Lillie and thinking all Yorkies were like this - I went to the same breeder and got Lillie a little sister - Gracie. Gracie is adorable and funny - however, she is a complete disaster when it comes to potty training. I have been crating her, etc for the last 6 weeks and she has not gotten anywhere. She knows when she goes in the house - it is bad, but she just does it everywhere. The funny thing is, she will cry to get out of her crate if she has to go potty because she will not go there. I feel that she is very smart, she is just not getting the potty thing. She even follows Lillie outside and she squats down too, but then 20 minutes later she is going in my house. The weird thing about all of this is she goes to the potty outside and I reward her, but she goes inside the house too. I am getting very frustrated with her - I am looking for some advice.

First off, welcome to yt!! Each dog is different. they can take different amounts of time to train. If she doesn't go when you take her outside, i would recommend putting her back in her crate, then 10-15 mins later take her back outside. If she doesn't go then back to the crate. But when she does go outside reward her!!! It takes time. Thats awomse that Lillie caught on that quick!!

Thanks for the reply. The funny thing is she does go outside both pee and poop and then she comes inside about 20 minutes later to do the same thing. Thanks for the post - I appreciate being here - I am going to load some pictures of the babies.

Thank you very much. Yes, she definitely loves to eat and drink - more than Lillie. I have put a couple of pictures up - I just got them some sweaters since it is getting chilly. I have to get some pictures of that. I love this site. Thanks.

Im not sure how you feed them but if the puppy is doing it's business outside and 20 min later having to go again, you might want to check if shes eating anything else lying around [ because my yorkie is a vacum, he just combs the floor for anything to snack on] or if you free feed you should probably take food bowl away until she's potty trained.... just a suggestion, and hope it helps.

Hi - I have two pictures loaded. The one that is in my profile is Lillie - she is much lighter in color. The little puppy is Gracie - that is her pup pics at 10 weeks old - I have to update those. She is a much darker color Yorkie.

Thanks for the information about the feeding - I do leave the food freely out and that is how I trained Lillie and she only eats what she needs all day, but you know she only pees in my house - it is almost like she is so busy playing she forgets or she does not care.
