| Skunk Look? Good morning everyone! Okay so I took my Rocco to the groomers yesterday to have his ears clipped and a sanitary clip. When I picked him up he looked absolutely beautiful. However, he looks like he has a skunk stripe running the length of his back where the blue/silver is coming through. Is this normal? And all of his "outer" hair looks and feels silky but "inner hair" and around his bottom is still really soft but looks cottony. Do they actually have puppy hair that they will loose? If so when? Thanks everyone for your replies. |

| Penny's hair was really dark and curly when she first got it cut. Afterwards it was still real dark, but it was straight. No streaks running through it.

| I think I know what you mean and yes it is normal. Is it parted more now that he is groomed then usual? If so it is probably just more pronounced to you right now. Post pics if you can, I would love to see him

| Rocco will be 12 weeks on October 30th. And I think someone who replied earlier may have hit the nail on the head. It does seem like his hair is more parted and straighter after going to the groomer so could that just be the steel/blue coming out in him or is that even a normal color? |

| Oh, he's a little guy.....I hear the coat can slowly change for up to 1-2 yrs.... It does sound like it is the lighter coat coming through....I have a cotton coated one and a silky coated one, the cotton coat is a pain, but I like the longer hair so I deal with it, he mats up like steel wool so fast... I didn't think I was going to be able to distinguish between the coats, but when I got my second yorkie ( 10 months old) I could tell right away his was different, his coat is soooo much easier to deal with, his coat feels like our hair.... I hope you are able to find a groomer you like, that seems to be a regular problem for some of us here....there's a lot of bad groomers out there...when you find one hang on the them
