| Bad groomer??? I called this local place by my house to see if they are available to groom Rocky and asked if I can be there when he is being trimmed, and the woman said I should drop him off, or wait outside the room. Well I told her that she has a better chance to see Jesus in McDonalds than me leaving rocky alone with someone else but me. Is this normal?? |

| Unfortunately this is usually the way they do it, sometimes you aren't suppossed to even wait outside the room. They say dogs act up more when their Mommys are there. I do Sawyer myself, that way if there is a mistake, I won't go to jail for hitting someone. If you have trouble with the nails, the vet will trim them, and it is only 5 or 10 dollars, and the same goes for the anal glands. Otherwise, talk to people in your area that really like their groomer, and try them. Good luck

| I understand why it upset you... i found a great groomer in my area... but i was upset too, bc i felt that he was like kicking me out.... but i trust him, and he does exactly what i want to Belle and doesn't charge me an arm and a leg when she gets matted (she has a soft coat not a silky coat) but like others have said, doggies act up when mommy's there...just like a skin kiddie...

| I wouldn't leave Ellie either and I am still not comfortable even going to places where I could stay, so I do her myself.

| I don't think that its bad for a groomer to want you out of the room. This is very normal. However, I would personally rather be there, so I found a groomer that would let me.

| thats normal, if your there the it makes them act up more. have you checked around to see if there are groomers that come to your house? i know there are a couple around here that do it. doing it that way or trying to do it your self might make you feel better

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I guess it's normal, but I for one wouldn't have it. I'm sorry - but you just have no idea what is going on at these places when you are not in the room. For all we know the dog could act up and the groomer could get PO'd and be mean/rough with it. I personally wouldn't take any chances, but that's just me. I am just so thankful that I know how to groom the babies myself

| We have a good groomer Our groomer has a van that comes right to the door. It is equipped inside to groom the dogs. We have had him three times, now, and I am very happy with him. I was very anxious at first, but he said that I am welcome to come in at any time, just to knock on the window. It is very convenient for me, he does a good job, and more importantly, Tootsie & Teddy like him. Janelles |
