| Leaving Him out of his Kennel! Barkley is almost six months old and has not had an accident since the first week we got him. Well, I guess he did have one a few weeks ago but I had been out of town and I think he was mad at me. HAHA.. Other than that he always goes where he is suppose to. Even when we travel and stay at family members homes. My question is.. Can I leave him out of his kennel during the day while I am at class? I leave at 8 and return home at 12 or so. I just want to see what everyone thinks.. Thanks ! |

| I just started leaving Deiter out. And he is doing great. Before I did this I would leave him out for for little times. I would run and errand be gone may 15 mins, I would do this serveral times a week. Now he is out all the time and doing great. Good luck

| In my opinion(and I've had dogs all my life), I would put him in an xpen while you're gone away, until he's done with the chewing stage..There are electrical cords, molding and other things that he can chew on that could kill him or hurt him seriously. plus, he may get mad because you're gone and you may have a real mess on your hands when you get home..For his own safety I would say not until he's around 1 would I leave him just run freely |

| ... we leave Maya out in the house when we leave. I have Babygates and she can only stay in the Livingroom and the Hallway and the Kitchen. Everything else is off-Limits for her. Had no Problems so far and we have been doing it for 4 months now. She usualy goes and lays on her Sofa until we get back. Try it and see what happens .... or get Babygates and give her only so much space.
