| Little baby making "purring" sound My adult female just had a litter of four cuties. One of them, the little, albeit CHUNKY male, has started making a "purring" sound, just like a cat. It's the darndest thing I've ever heard and I was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this or heard of it? I can't seem to find anything while doing a Google on it so I decided to throw it out here. BTW, the babies are just 17 days old. Thanks a bunch! |

| I have a dog that does what I call a gerbel, it is sort of like a rolling pur from him, and I bred him to one of my females and the little male pup makes the same sound as his dad. It is not a growl, or a bark, but like a rolling loud pur. |

| Welcome, KramersMom! Yep, our Toto makes a sound similar to that ... don't have a cat, but I have heard newborn babies sound like that. She does it when she is comfy and snuggling or if she is having to do something she doesn't want to do, i.e. ... bath, crate, etc. At those times, we say she is whining!! It's definitely a heart melting sound!!

| Mia sometimes does the 'purr' and she is 21 wks+ now . What's really funny, though, is that we have a Devon Rex cat (hypoallergenic, VERY thin and rabbit type down, not normal fur ) and she COOS just like a dove when petted - and especially when she goes into heat. She only meows about once a week if she is upstairs and wants water and doesn't want to have to go down to get it. Very dog like cat Devons are - play fetch, crave attention, radiate heat and she is just under 6 lb full grown. |
