| What do you need in times of emergency? Since I had the scare of my life tonight, I realized that there are things in my house that I don't have that I do need in times of emergency. Like Baby Asprin. Lets start a list hopefully I can realize other things I need, and this can help other ppl out to! |

| Children's Benadryl is also good to have on hand in case of an allergic reaction or bite or sting.

| Ok. I read the other forum about Tylenol. I hope your baby gets better soon. I'm writing this stuff down, but can someone tell me what the aspirin is used for? Just in case I have to ever use it for Riley. |

| For pain. It's better to have your vet prescribe something, but in an emergency, some vets will tell you to use baby aspirin.

| I am a firm believer in having a basic first aid kit on hand for our furbabies: Triple antibiotic ointment Hydrogen Peroxide Hydrocortisone cream Alcohol swabs Benadryl Pepto Bismal Kaopectate Baby Aspirin Self-adhering bandages Gauze pads Eye wash Small syringe (no needle) marked w/m’s or cc’s for medication administration Cold Pack Styptic powder to stop bleeding Cotton swabs/cotton balls Thermometer (normal rectal temperature is between 101.0 to 102.5 degrees) Copy of shot record (in plastic sheet) Pedialite to replace fluids Here is a link to the Red Cross on first aid for pets. It's good to either bookmark or print a copy to keep in your first aid kit. http://www.redcross.org/services/dis.../firstaid.html |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Pepto Bismal and pedialyte. Pepto for when they have an upset stomach and keep vomiting and pedialyte for the same reason to keep dehydrated.

I just want to make this clear...I know you meant "keep HYDRATED", not "dehydrated".... and fwiw.....you can buy Pedialyte at almost any grocery store and a lot of them have their own store brand of electrolyte solution that's less expensive. Make sure you note the expiration date on any type that you buy though!
