| What to give for BAD breath? Britney and Brooklyn have the WORST bad breath. It's especially bad when they are play-fighting. I guess cause their mouths are open a lot. I feed them Canidae and try to brush their teeth once a week (which they HATE). Any suggestions on what I can do? I like remedy-type things (using stuff from the grocery store, heath food stores, etc), but I'm open to anything. |

| I would try to look for the source of the problem first. I read on here that bad breath can be an early indicator of some serious health problems like ....kidney maybe? I know issues with their teeth can also cause bad breath. So, first I would get a vet check up. Then, I recommend using Petzlife oral gel and/or spray. It's wonderful for keeping their teeth healthy and the mint flavor is nice to smell. (I would probably avoid the salmon if you are doing this for bad breath though.) IMHO

| I was having the same problem with Sugar. I generally have all of the dogs' teeth cleaned professionally once a year but last year I had to have Sugar's teeth cleaned TWICE and he still had stinky breath. At 3 pounds I'm not thrilled with that much anesthesia. Sooo, here is what has worked miracles for me- Petzlife Oral Gel. I can not say enough about it. Sugar hates the taste but I just stick a pea sized bit under his front teeth and it has made all of the difference in the world. It worked on his breath instantly but it has enzymes that kill the bacteria so it's long lasting. At first I did it twice a day, then once a day and now I do it 2- 3 a week. It's amazing!

It's really worth it- I swear! I don't even use it to brush the teeth and it's working. Your's might hate it (like mine) but you can just stick it in their mouth like I am and use your regular toothpaste for brushing.

| Been there, done that! I feel your pain. It's worth every penny. I also wouldn't say that Gizmo "likes" it. He does tolerate it...when I can catch him!

| How often do you use it and how long does a bottle last? |

| For budget reasons, I only bought the gel. I use it three times a week, but some use it more often. I just follow the directions that came with it. A little bit goes a LONG way. It really lasts IMHO.

| That's what I'll probably do as well. I can imagine how it would go if I tried to open their mouths and spraying the spray! |

| Watch what you feed them, and Petzlife, then if they are old enough do a teeth cleaning through your vet. |
