Need Information on new puppies This past Sat my female had a litter of 3 new puppies. Female was normal looking, both males were born bald. My vet says he does not know cause, but is sure they are not blue borns or have color dilution alopecia because this is something that occurs later, puppies are not born bald. I am not a breeder, nor plan on being, just looking if anyone knows of this in order to decide on treatment, if any, of puppies. Vet says they appear healthy in every way. The male is also ours, and is AKC registered, saw both mother and father at breeders. The female was ACA registered, but did not see mother or father. Can anyone help?

i have nevr heard of such a thing. Were they born early? I have had a couple that had no hair on their toes when they were born but in just three or four days, white hair came in which eventually turns gold. Sorry I can't be more help.

Need information on new puppies No, the puppies were completely full term, 61 days. The vet is doing some research to try to come up with something, and as I said the puppies are healthy and the female has all hair. The hair is missing from top of head around eyes to nose, the body is covered with black hair like the female. At this time, the vet says it is unlikely the hair will ever come in.

Wow, the ONLY thing I think it could be is alopecia caused by lack of zinc... I hope you have an answer asap... Good to know the little ones are healthy...
