| I believe Monkey stopped growing between 7 & 8 months. It's not a fact, but you can pretty much judge their size at 6 months. They don't continue growing very much after that. Monkey only got more solid in body mass but he didn't really grow in size (if that makes any sense). It was a difference in about 3/4 of a lb. for him. I have a new little girl too. I am following her growth as well. I guess we'll all see how it goes! Congrats on your puppies!

| Also, when your dog is fully grown at about 7 months, be sure to go ahead and switch them to adult food! Here's the thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4054 (I didn't know that until this thread...and I'm so thankful to YT for helping me realize it was time! LOL)

| According to the SPCA According to our local branch of the SPCA here in Socal, yorkies grow until they turn a year, and both mine did. My boys weighed 6.5 and 5 poudns at 8 months, ending weight, 6.5 and 8 pounds at 14 and 15 months. |

| It was always my understanding that toy dogs weren't at their full adult size untill about 2 years old. All of mine were full grown in height by about 10 months, then got heavier in bones/muscle until about 1 1/2 years, they looked more like dogs then, not puppies. 3puppies4me |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I had a thread on this... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8605 Seems that people think different months. So, I don't have an exact number, but if you think about it, people are the same. Some stop growing before others do.

| A Yorkies bone structure might be nearly finished at 6-10 months. That does not mean it is an adult and ready for adult food. I, personally, have not seen any except the very tiniest, stop growing before a year. Now, no matter if their bones structure has slowed down, they have to mature in other areas. Compare a pic of a 70 pound human child who is only 7 years old. Think about the same weight but on a 12 y.o human. There is a huge difference in the mature body and the younger child. Same with dogs. If a breeder says a puppy will be full grown at 6 months, ask why do we double the 3 month weight to guesstimate the adult weight. Why wouldn't we just say "Oh, wait til 6 months and you wil know exactly how big your baby will be cause it is full grown then"? |

| Stockiness may not be a determining factor either...our Boog dog was very stocky and solid muscle but only ended up being about 10" tall to the top of his ears as an adult (and most of that was probably ears!) He weighed about 5 pounds but it wasn't because he was chubby...he was just solid. |

| Interesting that I should see this question, because a few minutes ago I was reading questions and answers on a vet's site and he said that they generally stop growing around 6 months but continue to fill out between two and five years. Kacee is growing like a weed, too. She'll be three months old next Saturday. |
