| silky hair?? yorkie? I am just so thrilled i have my pictures finally downloaded and can get some opinions. Today i finally got Ollies eyes to glow a color in a pic and it is green- so from everything i have learned here i am assuming his hair is silky. I was beginning to think so because it never mats although he is only 7 months. What do you all think ?? What are advantages and disadvantages of silky hair? And also ---do you think he is all yorkie? I dont care because we adore him completely -- i inheritated him at 12 1/2 weeks from my son... and i believe from all i have learned here that he was bought from a broker so i am just curious to know. It will not matter to me. Ollie is 11 lbs. at 7 months (yes a still growing teaPOT) and look at the length of his nose. Please be honest -- i will not be offended in the least. We love him just the way he is-- just curious to know if he looks all yorkie or somewhere had something mixed or maybe just a poorly bred yorkie??? His personality is so YORKIE!!! Thanks so much - i value all of your opinions. |

| He could have silky in his line somewhere - it's just too hard to tell because a lot of yorkies look very silky-like now. Most likely he's the result of breeding out of standard yorkies. He looks like he has a silky coat to me, although it looks to be of a wavy texture. He's cute though and has a sweet face!

| He looks all yorkie to me..he looks bigger which is fine(remember I have one that is 14 lbs), no silky in her, they used to breed them bigger and you can get throw backs, and his one ear it looks like is down, but, remember I also have a german shepherd(all german shepherd) who has a lazy ear and one is up and one is down..he's just adorable |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I'm not the expert here but Ollie is super cute - love his nose! His coat looks wavy to me so perhaps cottony? Not sure or is there such a thing as a combination of silk/cotton - cause to me he looks a little of both.

| What a darling name for a cute yorkie. Looks all yorkie to me. His coat is very wavy, but I guess it could still be silky if it doesn't matt easily. Enjoy your little guy, he looks like a keeper to me.

| Thank you --Thank you all!!! We think he is a cutie and yes his hair is very wavy but never mats---so i am confused with his eyes glowing green in pics. Could it be his adult coat hasnt grown in yet? He was black and tan -then we had him groomed into a puppy cut and he is silver but right now i can see a line of black down his back. I have been suspicious that he doesnt have great breeding..... but my gosh he is the joy in our lifes and makes us smile and laugh ..... i wish i would of discovered yorkies years ago. Ollie will hopefully have a baby sister soon (next spring) and i am so much more educated --so thanks so much!!! |
