| Puppy hair Hi everyone~ I'm a new Mom to Sophie turning 11wks this weekend~ I have a few questions for anyone that may know about this puppy coat she has and all the changes it will go through. 1. How come after I bath her...she only looks fluffy for about an hour and then the little greasy look comes back? She is clean and does that? Will she out grow this? lol I use puppy shampoo for her face and head..then day to day shampoo and conditioners from Chris's systems and follow with Ice on Ice spray. 2. She has a soft cottony coat..it want to get knots already. Villette has been so helpful in finding good products for her to use. As far as the eyes glowing green or red to see if she has that silky coat or not...I haven't been able to get the glow effect...but her Mom's photos glow red. 3. What is the best way to go about daily brushing..I try dry and hit a few snags..I don't want to hurt her...I've also sprayed some ice on ice to brush too....Actually yesterday she slept in my lap...and the comb worked better for me...she was knot free. It seems at the back of her legs she wants to knot some. And she has that downy fluff that just wants to mat closer to her skin there. Thanks for any help or ideas...especially if someone out there has a puppy with a coat like my Sophie. I want to let it grow long if I can.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi Melissa....Me againnnnnnnnn.... I think her coat will change - she's only 11 weeks - Chanel had the kind of coat you describe - hers wasn't greasy as I suspect Sophies isn't ...it just un-fluffs and you WANT that - fluffy isn't really good when it pertains to yorkies...Just keep doing what your doing - She has her baby coat now and it will slowly change... but while it changes you WILL notice more knots... so try to get to them before they turn to matts. I used to spray on Jonhsons No More Tangles to work out the bad knots when both mine were babies. Cheri tangled and knotted VERY easily as a puppy and now that her adult coat has grown I hardly ever see even a tangle on her - I use the products you're now using....You're doing really good with Sophie ! |

| Please fill me in on the way the eyes turn as to what kind of coat they will have, and at what age can you tell for sure they have there adult coat? Also if the hair does not tangle and is only 4 inches long at 9 months are they still in puppy coat or has it moved to adult coat...also if I cut off all the hair except for the top knot, will it grow in thicker than before by winter? thanks for all of your expert advice, you are a dream to help with all of my silly questions..Judy |

| How do you tell what kind of coat is which? Are there any pictures that will demonstate better what were talking about? Also I am confused about the colors. Dennis is black and gold, what will he look like in a year from now? Anyone know? Sue |
