new member, and a long happy story hello. I just joined. I have one male yorkie that is 4 years old, his name is oliver. I just got him back on april 15th, he was let out by an intruder on new years. and no matter what I did I coulnt find him. well come to find out one of our old neighbors had him! and they decided they were going to keep him! well he got out from there house and another old neighbor called the police cause she knew he was mine but she didnt know where we had moved to. so they got a hold of us and we went and got him and brought him home . well 2 hours later the cops came back and the lady that had him sayed he was hers, and she had the papers to prove it. so the cops had to take him back there, but if she didnt have the papers then they wernt going to let her have him. and she didnt have any papers on him ( oh by papers I meen vet records, sorry) but any way the only ones she did have was when oliver got out he was hit by a car, and then she took him to the vet. so when she coulnt prove she had him for longer than my baby was missing she than said we stole him from her a year ago . but the cops said her story didnt add up so they brought ollie back to me and they wanted to talk to me cause by then they were confused , so after they told me what she said I told them I had an akc registration aplication, papers from the breeder, and TONS of pics. well after seeing all that they knew he was mine and they let me keep him. I am the happiest woman in the world right now.

Oh my goodness! That is indeed a happy story! Is Oliver okay from being hit by a car? I'm glad to hear you got him back, that's pathetic that a neighbor would be so jealous and steal him away. That's just as bad as the intruder. Have you perhaps thought about electronic ID tagging Oliver? I haven't done it myself, but I hear it does work, as the vet would take a look at the tag anytime your Yorkie would go in. Keep Oliver safe! I'm sure you are having a great time re-bonding with Oliver. Welcome to this board! We'd love to see pics of Ollie as well!

yes he is ok, thankfully . I would love post pics of my baby, if I could figure out how we are still trying to get thru all the rats and snarls in his hair from where she dint groom him! I even found oil based paint in his fur. now she has signs up saying she lost 2 yorkies, and one is a 9 month old female. she says they were lost on the same day we got ollie back. oh I am going to get a hold of the vet on monday and see if he can send me copies of every thing so I know what was done to him when he was hit, just to know.thank you

That's a rough story, but I'm really glad it has a happy ending!! Most people don't really get a second chance like that, so I'm sure you must feel ecstatic to have your beloved dog back. Welcome to the board, and thanks for sharing your story.
