Does Anyone Use Doggie Diapers? Ariel is 13 weeks old now, and I'd say she goes to her pee pee pads 85% of the time. But, when we leave her for a long period of time, she'd pee on the floor ~ 5 inches away from her pad! And, she has had a few accidents on the carpet when she's out playing. I'm thinking of letting her use diapers when she's outside of her pen. Does anyone do this as well? Do you think it will aid in her potty training, or stray away from it? And, silly question, but how does the doggie diaper work?!

Just realized there's a more appropriate section of the forum for this thread. Is it possible to have this moved to the 'Training Section'?

I'm giving that a shot with Zoe. We've had basically, the same situation. So I bought a diaper and have been using that in between. We've only been using it for a few days and it seems to be working. Good luck - hope it works for you and continues to work for me.

Thanks! How does the diaper work, actually? Is it just like the baby diapers, where you dispose of them every time they go in it. Or, is it made of very thick, absorbent fabric, where you need to wash it when they go.

| I only put a diaper on Hoku and belly band on Kalani when we go to someone else's house - they are really good at using their pee pads at home. I stick panti-liners in the diaper and belly band and so far they haven't soaked through. There are some YTers that make the most adorable products - much nicer than what you would find at PetsMart or Petco!

Occasionally I've used the cloth diapers on Sophie, especially when we were home and my boyfriend didn't want accidents on his new carpet...lol. I just stuck the pantyliners in the XXS size (I think it was about $20 at Petco) and strapped it on. There's a little hole for the tail, so it catches all the pee...but not the poop. Which was fine for me...I'd rather clean up poop than pee any day (that's why I feed premium food). I use the disposable ones on Maddie when she's in heat. The XS simple solution fits her perfectly, and she keeps them on pretty well. She's never tried to chew them off, but I'm sure some people would have a problem with that...

Thanks for clarifying the "how does the diaper work?" question that I had! I just hope Ariel's pee doesn't leak through the pad. And, I agree. I've seen a few YT'ers here who make doggie diapers ~ such cute fabrics! I'd rather get one from them than Petsmart or Petco.
