| I had Lulu spayed at 7 months and 2.5lbs. She did just fine.

| Daisy was 6 months and like 4-5 pounds. Jersey was spayed at 6.5 months and weighed 2.6, her pre-op bloodwork came back perfect and she did great with the spay and her baby teeth removed.

| Lolita was 14 months and 2.5 pounds. I was told that she should be spayed around 6 months...but she was just too tiny and I was a nervous wreck. She then went into heat at about a year and I rationalized that if her body was mature enough to go through a heat cycle, she was mature enough to get through a surgery successfully....but I was still a nervous wreck. Everything went well, but I am glad I waited.

| This is my first post here. I don't have a Yorkie, but my daughter does. I have Mini Schnauzer puppies(girls). She had Maya spayed after her first heat and it seem to have worked out pretty well. I think she was around a year old. My little girls are 7 months and have not come into heat. I am going to have them spayed as well, but I am looking into the minimal invasive type of surgery. I will give you some info that I found on the internet about spaying and the surgery for you to read. Some of it is kinda graphic,so be prepared. Here are some links that people might find beneficial or interesting.>The last one is kinda graphic, David http://www.naiaonline.org/pdfs/LongT...uterInDogs.pdf http://www.vet.uga.edu/mis/index.php http://www.mvma.org/Proceedings/SAI/Friday/SAIFri2.htm http://www.vet.uga.edu/PR/archive/2001_spring.pdf http://www.metzgeranimal.com/JanFeb_Kees_pgs38-41.pdf |
