| How does your Yorkie react when your kids are home sick from school? DD is home sick today, but ds went to school. He is going around the house with his tale down, he is laying on BOTH the kids beds (he has NEVER done that!) and even went down into their play room and layed on their beanbag chairs (never done that either!!) Whenever he is running between these things, his tale is HARD DOWN............almost under his belly. He is acting like he did something wrong (he did this when he used to have accidents, very guilty acting) but I have SEARCHED HIGH and LOW and I don't see any accidents?!?!!? I then put him on the couch w/ dd, and he slept there for about an hour until she needed him off.........and now he is sleeping on a pillow RIGHT by the couch. Is this NORMAL? Is he bothered by having her home? Is he confused?? Does your dog act any different when one is sick?? Any thoughts on this would be great!!! Thanks!! |

| No kids but... I don't have kids...because I am one myself. But I know that when I am home from school, Beau will be VERY watchful...almost motherly. Beau will not leave my side and make sure the house is under control...he is very task oriented. He will eat then come right back to me...or I will go to the bathroom and he will watch every move I make. Is he acting more motherly and worried or is he actling like it is a bother? Sounds like he's worried why she is there.

| It is possible that he is just worried about her. My 2 fur babies watch my kids like a hawk. My son has asthma and when his breathing gets bad they are right there by him or pacing back and forth. Also, at night when we put the kids in the bed, my 3 year old tries to get up a ton of times before going to sleep. Well...the fur babies put a stop to that...when they hear her feet hit the floor they take off running and chase her back to bed..lol..they never do anything more than a bark that sounds like they are fussing at her...lol...

Thanks so much for both your responses. I am thinking he could be concerned about her, but then again, I am wondering if he DOESN'T WANT to be responsible for her. It seems like when I am downstairs (and she is upstairs resting) he seems to go more bizerrk (sp), but even though he runs around when I go upstairs to check on her he seems more calm w/ me around....it was almost like he was coming to find me, and then he would look at me as though he was saying "follow me" (which I did) and thats when he brought me to the kids' beds(and preceded to lay on their beds) and then brought me downstairs (to the lowest level in the house) to their playroom and layed on their bean bag chair. It was just very nervous, odd and out of character behavior. I just wish I could read his little mind. Because I don't want him to feel RESPONSIBLE for her?!?!?! I hear they can really get stressed out when that happens?!?! | |

| awww that's so cute. I love hearing stories! Daisy does the same when Im sick or anyone else. She's extremely maternal and she's only 5 months. She watches every move I make, if I get too close to my bedroom door she perks up (and this strait out of a deep sleep) and watches me then follows. so its normal...your doggy just has a big heart full of love |
