| Katia scratches her new collar We got Katia a collar today and she keeps scratching at it. It's definitely loose fitting enough. Is this normal? Is it just simply a foreign object on her neck that she will get used to?

| I would suggest you rethink your decision to use a collar and consider a harness instead. I tell my new parents to use a harness with a leash so as not to add any stress to the trachea... |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Our girls scratched at their collars when we first put them on but once they got used to them they hardly to it now...we also have harnesses on them for walkes and pottying and it is the same with those they scratched them at first but now hardly notice they are there...I think it is just a normal thing!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | another bit of advise ...If she's going to wear a collar keep checking her neck for matts - sometimes they rub wrong and you end up with really bad matts close to the skin....Just a FYI for ya ! |

| It is sooo normal! Give your baby a week to get used to it. Stomper used to HATE it. He got all moody when I put it on him (they are sure stubborn!).

They scratch it for the first few days, then they get used to it.I usually let the collar alittle bit loose,I stick two finger in the collar and that should be loose enough.
