| Jolie is overly anxious in car trips , Help ! We have taken Jolie in the car since we have had her( 9 1/2 weeks ) She would travel just fineat such an early age. The older she gets though she is overly anxious and seems like she is going to stroke out. Anyone else ever have this problem ? Is there something I should give her to calm her down?

| Siu Pao is like that too. He will get overtly anxious in the car, move here and there, to the right, to the left, to the front and to the back until he throws up. I have started travelling with him in the car as soon as we got him and its already been over a year now and we travel with him almost weekly in the car but its still the same thing. It helps to wak him before the trip but doesn't really calm him down 100%. I have tried giving him Gravol (ask your vet how much to give) and Travel Calmer pills for dogs but it only makes him drowsy..doesn't really help. Maybe you can give it a try. Edited to add: ginger snaps will do too.

| Gizmo is more secure in the car if I keep him in a carrier. He feels safer and calmer and he can go to sleep if he wants to. Maybe that would help? I keep it in my lap and stroke him every so often .

| The car carrier sounds like a really good idea.

| My Max was exactly the same way....when he was still a little baby, we took trips to Napa (a 9-10 hr trip for us) with him, and he was just perfect; laid down in between us and slept most of the way. Fast forward to him being almost a year old, and I thought either he, or my husband were going to stroke out on the way! It's awful...the shaking, panting, licking, and whining sometimes. I've tried everything too...putting him in his carrier, Rescue Remedy drops, pills that I got at Petco called "Content-um", Benadryl, and some other pills I got at Petco called "Quiet Moments" and NOTHING has made much of a difference. My next trick is to get a console car seat, and see if that helps at all. It would be so nice if he'd relax like he used to! The last time we were coming home, I did finally try putting him into his carrier, sitting it on my lap with my hand inside to pet him, and covered it with a blanket....he calmed down for awhile, but that was when we were almost home . If something works for you, please be sure to post it! I'm sure there's more than just me who'd be interested!! Thanks

| Huh. Maybe it's something they'll move back out of? Milo is nearly a year old now and he just started with the major stressing in the car too. We try to ignore him and hope it will pass as soon as it started up. |

| If you find something that works, let me know. Demi is 5.5 yo, and she's still horrible in the car. |
