| Spoke to Autumn's trainer today! I have been seriously looking into getting another yorkie. I had considered only getting another female. I called Autumns trainer who use to breed yorkies for almost 20 years to pick her brain and see if she knew of a good breeder. She asked me if I was going to look at a male or a female and she said that was totally up to me but after breeding them for so many years she saw so many times that a female/female did not work out. She says rarely did she find that a male/male or female/male did not get along. That combo in her opinion works way better. She thinks that I would be sorry if I got another female. She wants me to reconsider and get a male. I told all this to my hubby and he says "Oh I agree" well does he think he should of said that before I drove myself crazy finding the right female for us. Maybe he agrees because he has a boy dog named picked out. So are there any thoughts from all of you great YTers! |

| I like a boy/boy the best, and boy/girl second best. To me the girls seem to need a lot more attention then the boys.

| One breeder I talked to had to place one of her two females in another caring home. The two females couldn't stand each other. They got real angry/territorial! LOL |

| I prefer boy/boy.Its even better if they aren't the brightest of the bunch they'll just knock each other around all day and not understand the concept of "territorial". Anyway I would try a male, so at least you know what it is like to have a girl and boy for future decisions. |

| Yeah, Autumns trainer said that when she was breeding them she had to rehome more then she could count and 98% of the time they were females w/another yorkie or smaller breed female dog. I guess there must be some truth behind it! |

| I LOVE my Loki. And Sammy is a perfect little sister for him. Annoying, takes his toys, plays chase with him... he loves her! HA! Get a boy - you'll be fine!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 3 females, 2 are yorkies and 1 is a pom. They youngest yorkies gets along great with my Pom and picks on my other yorkie a lot. Nothing serious just rough play. The pom is the oldest and definatley the alpha dog. One resaon I wanted another yorkie was so they would be close in age and have each other. Turns out the older yorkie is more of a people person and the youngest loves the pom. I would still have gotten another female even though they aren't the best of friends because I had males before and they both marked and I didn't want to take the chance, I now they don't all but mine did.

| Well my aunt who has about 6 females all together and they all get along great no fighting!! So I think it really depends on the temperment, look for a dog that would have a similar personality to your dog. |
