| Vet Appointments I’ve come to the realization that I cannot trust my Vet clinic to remind me when my two yorkies (and my other various critters) need their various routine shots and/or office visits. When I’m there with one of my dogs I always ask when and what is due next for that dog. Apparently, I’m not always given the correct answer as I’ve found out this week (and every time I call and talk to a different person I get a different answer). So I definitely need to be more pro-active in keeping my various vet records organized so I know what each pet needs next and can schedule office visits accordingly. After all the puppy shots and spaying/neutering the first year, what is required for the next year? Physical (once a year) Fecal test (once a year – usually same appointment as physical) Heartworm blood test (once a year – usually same appointment as physical) Bordetella (once a year – usually same appointment as physical) Rabies Shot (every 3 years) Distemper -- not sure how often this is needed …. Is it once per year ??? Teeth Cleaning -- once every two years as needed ??? Is there anything else I’m missing?

| lol....we have the opposite problem. Ellie's vet office loves to send reminders and way too many of them. We also have a pet portal through our vet's office. It is a private area online just for your pet's info and when they need to be seen next. DHPP is usually given annually which isn't a good idea. I would do titers for parvo and distemper and only vaccinate every three years. I would only do teeth cleanings when necessary. I won't put Ellie under anesthesia if there isn't a good reason. Some people have blood panels ran on their dogs yearly. Others don't and still others get it done yearly after about age six.
