| The China Controversy - articles I have been doing some online research to see how far I need to take the "Ban Made in China" products for my girls. Just the latex toys? What about all the other toys? Food dishes, etc.? Here are a few articles I came across that state errors in the Walmart report that we all were following last week. http://www.itchmo.com/pet-owner-test...-for-lead-3021 http://www.itchmo.com/wal-mart-statement-regarding-elevated-levels-of-lead-toxins-found-in-pet-toys-2949" http://www.itchmo.com/wal-mart-threa...-pet-toys-2947 I'm just not sure what to think about all of this. The alien, regardless, is long gone. And I know that Walmart has some shady practices... Where do others stand on this? I've heard many members here tossing everything from China. What's the other side of the story? What are you doing? |

| My Tinkerbell does not like any latex toys so this has not been a big problem for me whatso ever. I do by her plush/fabric toys at walmart though. She does not always like the big expensive toys. The 98 cent ones at Walmart she seems to like the most. I don't think that there is anything wrong with that. I do not feed her anything from walmart except for the good treats. Not the cheapo kind. She has always been really picky about treats she eats. She loves the All Natural Chicken Strips that I find at the local grociery store and I am not sure where they came from. I just think that everyone is taking this China thing a little bit to far. It is not everything that comes from China, just a couple things that they have come out with. Even American items have recalls. It does not mean that I am going to stop buying from them. They are correcting the problem there is no reason to stop buying from them. Just my personal thoughts.

| It's a very easy to remedy the solution for yourself, just don't buy the products or discard the ones that you have. None of the foods/treats that Chip eats were ever on the recall list, and as far as toys go Chip only likes stuffed toys. So the only products from China that I have thrown out are the stuffed toys that he has destroyed. If you really wanted to ban all your goods from China, you would most likely have to toss most of your dogs clothing, along with mostly everything in your home. I have seen more Central America/South America coutries starting to take hold on the manufacturing market, but no one can compare to China. You also have to consider that eventhough something says made in the US and it is cheap, most likely it was made in a sweat shop in Guam. Last edited by grayxie; 09-28-2007 at 05:33 PM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I put away all their toys made in china which was all but 2 and ordered some new ones that were made in Montana. I just don't want to take any chances as my 3 have been sick alot.

| I don't have any laytex or painted or any food made in China. But all of there plush toys are in China, theres no way around it, unless you spend a fortune on toys made in America. |

| We put Ellie's made in China latex balls out of reach for now. They will eventually be thrown away. She still has her made in China plush toys. I would still except made in China plush toys as a gift. I will not buy them though. I will go with somewhere like West Paw Design. Most of their toys are made in the US and most of their material is from the US. Every toy I buy will have to meet those two qualifications. I am verrrry picky though. I don't know about food dishes yet but I'm thinking of switching Ellie to Correll since they are made in the US.

| We don't have any of the latex ones, because my kids don't like them. We do however have the plush ones.
