| Registration Papers Hello all, I have a question, I hope you can help me with what to do in a situation I am in. My baby Jeanie was bought under the pretense that she was "registered". 1 year later, I don't have the papers yet. They tell me there was this reason and that reason, and I have filled in the paperwork again (something to do with them refusing to put them through because she and her husband signed as original owners, and they wanted just her name for legal reason). Anyway, I find it strange that all this time later I still don't have the paperwork? Is a registered dog not more money than a non registered one? I love Jeanie to death, and don't care what she cost, but it's the principle of the thing. I feel I have waited a very long time, and if anything, think I should ask for a partial refund because they didn't deliver on what they sold me. What do you all think?? Again I have to say, I love Jeanie more than anything, and this is just about not delivering on a promise......(yet, who knows, it may still come. But I'm starting to wonder...) |

| AKC is registered and the transfer is similar to purchasing a car. Title changes hands, bill of sale and breeder sends to AKC. New owner sends in limited registration (if that is how the pup is sold). AKC registered are usually higher in their purchase price. Did you ever see the pedigree?

| They gave me a ton of information regarding the parents when I bought her.....I'm not sure what a pedigree is. I will look through all paperwork, but it did seem that all was in order. I might have been duped. But I'm ok with that, I got Jeanie! I just think they owe me some money back if the isn't going to be registered..... Or would you all just let it go....I don't know what to do.....I'm torn |

| They certainly do owe you a refund of some amount. A registered dog is usually more then an unregistered one.

| What does your contract say? That should give you the answer you are looking for. If it doesn't say anything about AKC registry then you are probably out the $$$. You can also go to the AKC website and request your own paperwork if they have done everything they were suppose to. Good Luck.

| It seems like there is so much of this happening lately - unregistered dogs that were sold as AKC registered puppies. I received Kalina's papers the day I received Kalina! A year seems like a long time to wait. However, since Kalina is just my pet and I will never show or breed her, the papers are merely that - papers. I don't know whether or not you should get anything back or not, not knowing what you paid for her. Personally, I wouldn't pursue it. You have a darling, precious little girl and that's all that matters.
