| Digging the Sofa? Anytime Linus is on a soft surface, like a sofa or a bed, he starts furiously digging. Does anyone know how to make him stop? Thanks! |

| I don't know how to make him stop, but mine do it, too. It drives me crazy! They usually do it on their beds but try doing it on the sofa... I put a stop to that right away cause those little nails can put holes in sofas awfully fast. Maybe someone else can help us!!! |

| Thanks, glad to know Linus is not the only one! He's digging, not stomping. I think he thinks it's the ground and he can dig a hole. |

| Buddy does that aswell, he seems to do it when he wants to find somewhere nice to curl up and go to sleep, he sort of digs and goes round in circles all at the same time He makes me laugh if he does it on our bed at night, he's laying on our cover thats filled with goose down, as if its not soft enough for him!!! When he does it on the sofa i just say 'oi pack it up'! it works, he stops. lol

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy does that too. It's like she's fluffing up her space and getting it all comfy for her before she plops her little self down. I have no idea how to stop it either and I do worry about her sharp little nails scratching the furniture. I don't have a problem with her doing it on blankets, etc., but boy you gotta watch her when she's actually on the sofa.

| Chip does that on occassion in his bed for the "nesting" feeling, which is fine. He isn't allowed on furniture so I don't need to be concerned about that. Somehow he did start digging outside in the grass, which I really don't approve of. If I am able to catch him in the act I either put my foot on top of the spot he is digging, and tell him to leave it, or just move him to another spot. |

| Let me know when you find out how to cure it. Kalina does it too - all the time. I think it's cute though.

| My Jake does this also, he's trying to fluff up a place to lay down...He does it on my bed...I just have a couple of blankets I don't care about and I leave them in places where he does this so he has something to fluff....it works for us ....

| Piper stomps his feet when he's trying to make himself comfy, or when he's just being silly.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Well judging by my name...lol My Diggy does it too....he digs AT LEAST 20 times a day. He does it out of frustration, joy, making his bed, playing with Bella, wants a toy Bella has hid in the couch, wants a treat, gets bored....I have never seen a dog live up to his name like Diggy does. I dont try and stop him as I think its just and instinct thing and just what he does!! Your definatlely not alone. lol

| Lucky does that but Rudy never did. That is until he saw Lucky do it, now he does it too.

| My two also do the "digging" action just before they want to lay down and take a nap. I've bought several velor pet blankets and have them on their favorites spots on the couch and my bed so they always have something to "fluff" up and curl onto.
