| Only eats kibble...? Hi, For some reason my little guy only wants to eat kibble. I have tried 3 different soft foods (mixed in with the kibble) but he just won't eat it. Is it ok for him to only eat kibble? Should I make him some boiled chicken and steamed carrots? He likes the steamed carrots mashed up...but I worry about him not getting enough to eat...any advise would be wonderful... |

| My boy only eats kibble. I used to give him a spoonful or so of soft food before the pet food recal craziness, but stopped at that point and just never went back. He didn't seem to miss it and I also think the kibble-only diet has helped keep his teeth so tartar free (I have no scientific evidence to prove this, though!). I also give him fresh fruit like apple, peaches, raspberries and mangos in small portions with his morning meal (and also as snacks)m as well as cooked green beans and raw carrots. He has the sturdiest little 4-pound body you've ever seen and is healthy!

| I would consider yourself lucky. I think it is so much easier to only feed dry food. |

| Kibble is great as long as it is quality kibble. I wish I had never started my gang on soft food..it is a real pain if you travel.

| I agree -- the key is feeding a good-quality food. Foods that are considered "premium." I feed Archie Natural Balance now (the Dick Van Patten all natural food). He started out as a puppu on Royal Canin.

| We just do kibble too. As said before, just make sure it's a GOOD kibble.

| It's great that he only eats kibble. It's much better for his teeth then moist food.

| Its fine if all he eats is kibble. However its a complete myth that dry food is better for their teeth, if you ate nothing but cookies would you still have to brush your teeth? Wet food is much less processed and is in a more natural form than dry food. |

| I agree with lara, it's great that he's eating regularly and it's fine if it's dry food. BUT wet food is less processed and contains more moisture which is better for them, as long as it's Premium Dry food doesn't "keep teeth clean" for the very reason that she stated above. You still have to clean their teeth or use Petzlife oral gel or something like that.
