| Something good...A mobile groomer! I just wanted to share something good that happened to us yesterday, before Rocky began his drug experimentation! He had his first grooming yesterday and it was the greatest experience! I really didn't want to take him to a groomer where he would have to sit (for hours, possibly) and wait his turn. So, I checked into a mobile groomer and found the sweetest lady! She makes all of her own products and they are all organic and she is really caring towards the babies! Rocky was a little nervous to have a stranger take him to the grooming van, so she gave him a 20 minute massage and it relaxed him so much that he didn't fuss with her at all! She was also very smart and had all kinds of info on Yorkies. Anyway, Rocky looked great, smelled great and felt great! Best of all, she only charged $35.00! And, when she left, she gave us a complimentary bottle of her shampoo! I think I will definitely stay with this lady! I was very impressed with her. The only problem I had, was that she was about an hour late. She explained to me that the puppy she did before Rocky was really nervous, so she took extra time with him, which I thought was nice. Does anyone else use a mobile groomer? Last edited by lyricandme; 06-22-2005 at 03:47 PM. |

| Sounds like a winner to me! I don't think we have anyone like that around here. I was forced to groom mine myself as I found I don't like to leave them for 3-5 hours at the vet or groomer. The hour late, you have to forgive since she treated your baby so special, too. That's what makes her more wonderful.

| First, let me say I am glad to hear that Rocky is alright after the little pill scare last night. Next, I am so happy to hear something positive in regard to your experience with the mobile pet groomer. We have those here in the Phoenix area also and I have been so tempted to try them but I thought they would be way, way out of my price range. I hate dropping Teddy off for 4 to 5 hours for the little bit he is getting done and it makes him a nervous wreck so this would sure be a great alternative. Thanks for sharing your experience....

| We used a mobile groomer once and she was horrible. The shampoo that she used smelled gross, and she did such a bad job cutting Riley's hair. He was not very cute! I wish I had your mobile groomer! |

| We used to use a mobile groomer. I had no idea that it was a common thing to be 'mobile'. I guess I thought this lady had thought of it herself.

| I have used a mobile groomer for 4 years now. Ever since I got my westie and then my standard poodle. I now have the two yorkies and a persian cat too so she is here for a good four hours once a month. I think she is very reasonable, the dogs love her and she cares about them. She lets my daughter help and I can be there to tell her exactly what I want her to do. I think she charges the same or even less than the groomers you have to take them to. I am a little bit pranoid and over protective so I won't let my yorkies out of my sight unless I absolutely have to. I am afraid to leave them at a grooming salon because am so afraid they will be stolen or that they will be mistreated. I know there were some stories about some abusive mobile groomers too but I peek in on them constantly and she leaves the door to the van open for the fresh air so we can hear eveything that's going on. I just feel safer and would gladly pay a little extra for that reassurance. I also tip well so she does the extra special care and wants to keep coming. |
