New Yorkie Hi Everyone We are new to yorkie-talk. Does anyone have any experience with irritation on the tip of the puppies ear. It is kind of crustie. I tried using warm water with baby soap and then patted it dry. Does this sound like ear mites? Thank Sue

Hi and welcome! When my 2 were pups they both got the same thing on tips of their ears. My vet stated it was just due to the drier air, comes about this time of year but gave them a fatty acid supplement to keep the skin hydrated during the dry months.I also used a dab of mineral oil and would rub it in until the fatty acid kicked in.

Welcome to yt, is nice to have you here, Phoebe just to get that but paying a extra attention when to the tips and rinse well after shampoo work well for us, just make sure to use a very good shampoo and conditioner, sometimes a little of mineral oil in a cotton ball on the tips of the ears before bath work great too, hope this help
