| HUGE day for Riley This was the first morning that Riley went poo outside!! We had the Canine trainer come to our house yesterday and she really put me at ease. Told me all the ways to help Riley adjust to going potty outside and how to set him up in his xpen before leaving and what should be in there and gave me tips as far as taking him for a good walk right before so that he is nice and relaxed and tired...today I am having to try this out because I have an appointment that should only last an hour...so he will get a little practice being home alone...that is my biggest anxiety...but I think he will do good She said to play classical music and give him his chew toys and we have a very nice sheepskin bed and a wee wee pad in his pen...wish me luck!! |

| GOOD LUCK!!! It's always scary leaving your baby behind for the first time! I remember I cried when I left Beau for the first time because I could hear him crying as I left him alone in his cage. It was heart breaking! I also heard that if you leave a ticking clock right next to his cage it is supposed to soothe them...I don't know how but it seemed to work with my boyfriend's lab puppy!

| Well...he did ok...he lived! He was still crying when I came home but he might have heard me drive up and started up again. I had classical music on..but it might not have been loud enough...He did go potty on his pee pad but he poo'd next to it...mommy put the bed on the wrong side of the xpen and so he had poo'd in the front part where he would see me come home and he was jumping in it when I walked in the door...my trainer had told me to not pick him up right away and to let him settle down first (give him about 5 minutes) but I couldn't have him jumping in his poo...so I picked him up (he wasn't crying just jumping up and down happy to see me) and I didn't say a word to him for a few minutes while I cleaned up the mess...then gave him lots of kisses and now he is sleepin on my chest! LOL...He loves to sleep there. I think he still loves me!! Here is a picture of him sleeping This is so hard! Does it ever get easier? |
