| What to do now that pixie is going to be home alone I just got pixie april 21 and she was 4months. I got her as a gift from my parents because they bought a house in arizona, and i plan stay in new york because i have a good job, friends and my boyfriend here. So its time that i make it on my own. im 23 ! anyways im starting to look for an apartment and i have to find one fast. i have 3 weeks. Anyways pixie has been use to having people always around her. Now its just going to be the two if us. I work 9-5 and i plan on getting a second job. What should i do to keep her busy ? is there anything? |

| Coco is alone for 8hours a day during weekdays. She's ok though because I gate her up in the hallway, where she has running room and toys and all the essentials. I leave the TV on for her and believe it or not she watches as she naps. I've noticed that even on the weekends when I am there all day with her, she just naps during those times anyway. So she's ok. But if you are planning to get a second job, I think your pixie will get too lonely and might misbehave. JMO though, every cutie is different.

| Pixiestar, Im going to be dealing with the same prob. leaving my baby alone for 8 hours. b/c i have a 9-5 and i work pretty far from my job so i cant go home and feed him his lunch at 1pm. At the moment my parents are there and they take care of him while im away. but after july 1st my parents are going away and wont be back till november. My baby is just like coco she sleeps mostly during the day and is her spunky self at around 4 pm. i have made arrangements to have someone (my sis and lil cousin) come in around 1 to check up on him. i would advise u to do the same. they are very social animals and they NEED the human contact. its gonna be hard the first couple of days but ppl keep telling me that he will just have to get used to it ... good luck and hi fellow new yorker! ISNT NYC THE BEST. what part of nyc are u? |

| I would reconsider the second job. That would make a lot of long, lonely hours for a baby to be alone that is used to family all around. |

| I have a thought for you! Maybe you could puppy-share. If you know someone who's work hours differ from yours, or is home and lonely during parts of they day - your baby could visit every day - sorta like a companion. Good luck, I know it is hard to make it on your own - but really a really fun and exciting time.

| I just got my Yorkie last weekened. Today is her first day in the crate. I went home for lunch and she was fine. Just make sure your home is "puppy safe" and she has toys to occupy her. Like Coco's mom said, your puppy will probably sleep most of the day anyway, so don't worry too much. And you know if there are any problems or questions regarding leaving your puppy by thierself all of us will be glad to help you out. |

| thank you everyone. You all have been great. I am so stressed out with everything that is going on. I have so much pressure from my folks. I found a bunch of empty box throw im my room that my dad put in there so i can start packing. I'm starting to look today.(In brooklyn Bay Ridge) I love Pixie so much its crazy, and just the thought of knowing she is home all alone breaks my heart. I know that if i were to get a second job my boyfriend will have to watch her. But i have a plan that i really hope works. My boyfriend works night, but im moving about 30 blocks away from him so i really dont know if he would do it for me. But i think im going to ask him to instead of going straight to his place after work just to stay in mine once or twice a week. I dont know if thats going to work the whole point of me moving out alone to to be left alone. lol if i wanted him at my place everyday i would have moved in with him.lol w/b |
