| need info.....AKC + CKC = ?????? hi everyone! my husband asked me last night if i still wanted a little girl yorkie and of course i said yes. his brother contacted him yesterday - he has a yorkie and the groomer that he uses has about 10 yorkies in total now because one of her females had a litter. she doesn't want to have to take care of that many because she is getting older and it is too much work for her - grooming business plus they are championship show dogs. she is giving them away (with papers). i told him i don't think we can register the puppies that they will have because of the different clubs they belong to.

| You can register the puppies with CKC, but not with AKC. CKC will take AKC registrations, but AKC will not take CKC registrations. Hope this helps! You can't beat FREE!

| If you want one, go for it since they are free. But, I am skeptical about the statement "they are championship show dogs". to my knowledge and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, CKC has no shows like AKC does so maybe the show dogs are AKC? |

| I'd definetly take a free dog with papers or without. AKC only recognizes AKC dogs. CKC recognizes either.

| They don't have confirmation, but they do have a very good agility program, depending on what part of the country you live in. |

Surely the show breeder is not going to be selling you a dog with full registration. I've never heard of a reputable show breeder selling their puppies to someone other than another show breeder with full registration. So far as CKC - it depends which one you are talking about - there is the Canadian Kennel Club and the Continental Kennel Club. CanKC dogs can be AKC registered and vice versa with the right paperwork, but AKC will not recognize ConKC registration because it is not a reputable registry. The only reputable registries in the US are AKC and UKC. The ConKC has no conformation shows so therefor has no way of evaluating dogs against the written standard. Now, the ConKC will register the puppies...they'll register any dog off the street if you pay them to. They also recognize all the "designer" breeds out there...

| Yes and no--depends on which one of mine you are talking about. Our first female was CKC only. She was exactly what I was looking for and I have not once regretted that decision. The rest of the crew were/are AKC. We actually bought one male based partially on his line's agility success with the CKC's programs--he only had AKC reg when we got him, but we did send off his info and have him CKC reg as well. It was our intention to do agility with him--we had even started working with a trainer and everything. Unfortunately, he is a small fella and I don't think it would be safe. So for now he is just our patiently waiting stud. |

yes surely she is! as sugar's mom stated - it does happen. she is 75 years old and no longer wants to take on all the responsibility. what is so hard to understand or believe about that? and she is very reputable or my BIL would have never mentioned it to us.

| LOL I was so happy that you was getting a free puppy, that I forgot to answer the question. AKC + CKC = CKC If you have two adults ones AKC and the other one is CKC you can register the AKC to be CKC too. and their pups would be CKC. Im sure she will have no problems finding homes for these puppys of hers. If she does you can always tell her about YT. |
