| Kind of a Gross Question...But need answered My 5 month old has poop that is a very dark yellow color that is very soft. Smetimes it is so soft that once it comes out it just looks like a hump of poop rather than actually pieces (if that makes any sense) and the smell is very very strong, worse than my other two dogs. The thing that I am curious about is if it is her food. I feed her Natures Recipe and about to switch to Nutro Natural Choice (I heard it makes there poop hard rather than mushy). She seems to feel fine, constantly running around and chewing on any and everything she can and loves playing with the other dogs. Any feedback would be great. |

| Wow, I don't know what to tell you, i would at least call the vet and see what they say. How long has it been like this?

| If it has been more than a day or two I would ask a vet.

| She had coccidia and was on medication and was given Nutri-cal the first week we got her from 8/18-8/25. During this time she wouldn't touch her food but would eat the other dogs food, I called the vet and they said she was fine to eat the food because she was around 4 months and switching her to adult dog food was no problem. So I let her eat it until 9/3 and realized that she probably needs a food to better fit her. But I can say consistently her poop has been like this for about 2-3 weeks. I go to the vet this Saturday so should I wait and ask then and possibly take a sample or should I go in now? |

| She may still have coccidia. It can be very hard to get rid of. She can reinfect herself if she is in contact with the infected poop. Sometimes it takes several rounds of medication. Also, it is sometimes hard to detect on the test given by the vet. The test may show 'negative' but that is only for that particular sample. If her symptoms are the same, she should probably have more medicine. You should also remove feces from yard and spray a little bleach where she goes. Trust me...I've been there and hated it!!
