| Toys in the crate? For those of you that crate your yorkies during the day, which (if any) toys do you leave in with them? I have not put anything in with her other than her stuffed toy as of this point because I'm afraid of her chocking. I think I heard a Kong was a safe one, but Olivia is completely not interested in the Kong. I tried to put some peanut butter in it yesterday and she played with it for around 1 minute (a new record!) and then was bored. I hate to think she's bored all day, but I'd rather her be bored than choke on an unsafe toy. What do you all do? |

| I don't crate Maximus..so I don't know if this helps..but I do have in his crate (which he will go into just to lie down on his own) and I also put him in there when I mop..a stuffed toy, a blankie, a nylabone (teething blue one) for him to chewand a rubber toy with rope pieces that go through it for him to chew...and I bribe him with a few pieces of watermelon...I don't give him greenies or chewable toys because I am afraid he will choke but the seedless watermelon works great..and also a nylabone which has the ridges to clean his teeth and sooth his gums

| I put some of Ramsey plush toys in there. The other day he carried his tennis ball in there so I have been putting that in there too. I don't know how long yours are in there but, Ramsey is only in the a couple of hours (until my mom wakes up). So, the toys he has shoud keep him occupied. But I think he whines so much after I put him in there that he puts his self to sleep and doesnt have time to play with the toys. |

| I crate my dogs and I believe they sleep all day. I don't put toys in because they are just not toy players. |

| I use chew toys and nylabones. It almost seems to be like a baby and a pacifier with Katia. She falls asleep with her tongue on the bone.

Just find something that your dog won't rip pieces off of. And something that they like. ps. We also had to start buying her the medium size. She must toss it around inside her crate. Because on various occasions I came home to a screaming dog who had accidently pitched her nylabone out through the bars of her crate. Last edited by Sydney'sMom; 06-21-2005 at 09:03 AM. | |

| I put Simon and Hallie in their "condo", it is 2 excercise pens put together and their kennels are in there so they have lots of room to play. In it I put some of their stuffed toys and these ball like things I found at petsmart, they are open and treats fit inside. It seems to keep them occupied longer than the kong toys and they are too big to choke on. I do this yet I know all they do is sleep when I'm gone but it gives me peace of mind |
