I just love good news! Just had to share this with you...... Last year when we were camping here in Florida, a camper nearby had a tiny Yorkie named Chanel. Chanel formed a bond with us and we welcomed her and her dad to our campsite on their three-times-daily walks. Chanel was a big reason the Donald let me get Higgins. Chanel's dad (owner) was recovering from extreme surgery which removed most of his cancerous stomach. He was 51 and doctors only gave him a 5% chance of living. His sister and brother and their families were also camped here, and Homer's wife would come for a week or two when she could leave her job in Kentucky. Homer was alarmingly thin and it was hard to see him go home after several months here in the warm Florida sun. But his wife's breast cancer of some seven years previous had returned and he needed to be with her through a very tough time. Talk about bad things happening to good people! All summer long I prayed for Homer and his wife and little Chanel, but didn't know how to get in touch with them......we all forgot to exchange addresses. I didn't think that I would see Homer this winter. Imagine my joy when I saw his sister camped here again and the good news that Homer is doing very well! And his wife is doing well, too, and has just finished a course of chemotherapy. They will be here after Christmas and little Chanel will be with them!!!!! Homer was full of questions about Higgins and is looking forward to seeing how much he has grown......... I was so happy to hear all this, I cried!!!! God is good.

You made me cry too. That is great news that they are doing so well. I think with the right additude and your faith in God you can get through just about anything. I am going to have to buy a camper, it seems like you meet such nice people. We might get kicked out of few with Rudy's barking at anything or anyone.lol...........Cindy

That is great news! And believe me I know what they are going through! My husband had colon cancer with resection, chemo, and radiation. It was the size of an orange and they didn't give him much hope. He is still going every 6 months for check-ups. This year he got throat cancer and we went to Dr. yesterday and he is doing okay so far. He has had 3 heart attacks and open heart surgery so go to Heart Dr. every year for check ups. He probably should be pushing up the clover, but he is hanging in there. The dog has been a big boon to him. Of course, he was on every prayer line in the country. He knows all the prayers really helped him. Pat

Thank you! It has been a hard 4 years. But, he is walking 4 miles a day and says every day is a plus. We enjoy every bit of things we took for granted now. God is good! Oh by the way, I put the bow that I sewed the ribbon to back in and it looks real good---and stayed! Yea! Another question? I am letting her hair grow out and was wondering if you just let it grow or do you layer the hair coming from the face and ears? Also, how long do you keep the top knot hair? Thanks! You have been very very helpful to me. Pat

| Mary Ellen ... what wonderful news!!! I was so afraid that you all wouldn't see him this year! I'll bet little Chanel is good "therapy" for both of them! Tell Higgins when she gets there to "play nice" .... I know he will!!

That's a touching story, Mary Ellen, seeing Chanel and Higgins get to play again will give their family more joy too! That should be fun for both kids!
