| Didn't you think about that before you got him? That's a very long time to be left alone. |

| So sorry to hear that, it seems like he would be lonely....I know there are a lot of people who work on this site also, but I couldn't do it... I hope you do the right thing for the pup, I would have suggested if you had someone to pop in to walk him or spend sometime with him but this situation would be an ongoing problem, and it wouldn't be fair to ask someone for that kind of commitment.....

| Dont beat yourself up. If you leave him with plenty of toys, maybe a TV on or radio, he will be just fine! I have many friends/ neighbors that do the same and they're pups are just fine. In fact they are quite used to it. They just make sure to take them out for a really good walk in the morning and a really nice long walk as soon as they get in. I usually see them at the dog park as well. So maybe those can be options for you? That way he can still get tons of time to socialize and get exercise? Just an idea!

| I also have a neighbor that has a dog walker pop by mid day. Maybe you would be interested in that as well?

| Dont feel like your a bad mommy i also leave my rocky for 10hrs. I knew it was going to be hard when i got him but he adjusted i leave him 5 toys treats and i also leave the radio on for him. And hes fine when i get home unfortunatley i have to work so i can buy him all those toys and stuff. And no matter what anyone says i know i take care of him and he is my life but i do have to work and cant stay home with him or work part time. so dont worry my rocky is now 1yr and 6months and he's ok he's not traumatized or anything so dont beat yourself up.

I leave lots of toys, treats and food available for fim so he is all set when it comes to that. I would love to pay a dog walker so he/she takes him out in the middle of the day but living in NY is it very hard to trust a stranger with your apartment keys...I see you are from Queens so you know exactly what I am saying. | |
